I am familiar with this one but I'm not sure I want to pull the trigger on it a little more than I want to spend and have read too many posts about people getting bad ones and ones with dead spots in the filter. $500 is a lot of money to spend on something for it to not work. While I'm not completely opposed to this I was also looking at the ones from lab rats hoods or whatever it's called and one from some mycology supply place. Both versions are cheaper than the Amazon ffu but I'm not sure they are any better.

DIY or riding ebay all day every day is the cheapest you can go. Prices only go up from here

I was thinking DIY hood was still more than a FFU.
You aren't wrong about it going up. When I first started look for FFU the one from mycology supply was 325. Now it's up to 399 only a couple months later.

Also, Look up A/C suppliers around you to quote prices. I believe that's how @Rotpins found his. Edit: here

Ah I'll probably just quit fkin around and save up for the Amazon one. At least being that it's coming from Amazon it will be easy enough to replace if it doesn't work correctly. I was also considering a flat pack from lab rats they are about $100 cheaper but you have to assemble yourself. My only qualm with that place is they have something like a 7 week waiting time for their units.

My Chinese 2x4 has been perfect for over two years now.
I think theyโre like a few hundred if you buy a bunch and then people resell them for 1k. A while back somebody was trying to round up 10 people who wanted to chip in on a shipment from alibaba, came out to like $300 per person for a 2x4 delivered.

False. Another lie brought to you by the war of christmas. Chestnuts are never roasted over an open fire either, it dries them out.
We will cease hostilities in the war on christmas when the incursion on november is officially pulled back to december.

There are 2x4โs on ali baba for 150 bucks. Look for ones that have a sample available, no wait time for production, ready to ship..
The main reason to get a few is the shipping cost is close to the cost of ffu when only ordering 1-2 but it starts to get cheaper when you buy as many as can fit on whole pallet.
I want a couple so I Been considering going for a bulk order and reselling them for a little profit. Iโll post in marketplace if/when that happens.

Hey guys, my first time growing tubs and I have on thatโs fully c colonized would you say itโs time for fae? I donโt see pinning yet do I wait until then? Also I have another tub that I spawned before the fully colonized one but itโs barely 10% colonized after 10 days or so. I feel like the mycelium is growing under my casing. I started with 4 tubs and two of them have contaminated lol so I very anxious about these last two. Any advice would help.
This was spawned on the nov 27th B+. Colonized fast. How does it look? Is it time for fae?

This was done on the 22nd of November. Still colonizing but very confused to way itโs going so slow. Averyโs A.

This is my contaminated tub. Done on the 22nd.

The time for FAE is when you spawn the tub. The taping it off is an old myth. That, unclean spawn, or incorrect moisture may be why your tub is taking so long.

Somebody here has done it. I canโt remember who but he took a pretty big fruit and put it in a glass and then filled it with resin to make a paperweight. I might be remembering wrong but I think it was fresh.

Has anyone done copper or brass casting with them? I bet you could do a sick sand form metal cast.
It's actually pretty easy to make an aluminum crucible using an old fire extinguisher and lava rock. You can melt down cans and pour them into sand casts. I don't know if it's hot enough to burn out and replace a whole fresh fruit but I do believe I've seen it done.
