So I was wondering, do you guys have like a favorite shrooms to grow? And if so why? Is it the way the look, the potency, the trip experience, the challenge to grow them or the taste?

Psilocybe cyanescens. Amazing high/potency, taste better than cubes, gorgeous mushrooms, I can grow them in the garden.

Azzies, Bisporus, Tamps, Pan Cyan if it's a good culture, and possibly Ovoids but we'll see about that. But for the pure beauty and enjoyment from growing, even simple Cubes do it for me. I just don't eat them anymore cos I have too many other species.

I used to somewhat like the taste of cubes.
Now I don't. Don't even like their smell anymore (I love the earthy smell of myc but hate the small of drying fruits).
Before I would just munch on mushrooms and enjoy it.
Now if I want to trip, I'll just make tea, reduce it as much as possible and chug it like a shot.
Maybe it's time for me to explore something else than cubes

when i started doing mushrooms, i didn’t understand how people could hate the flavor so much. a few years in & now even just eating a cap has me wrenching a little lol. idk what it is, but my gf feels the same. we only do tea now, though i do still eat them fresh from time to time if it all lines up & i have fresh available. but the dried flavor is

I think in the beginning our excitement might override any negative taste, but as it becomes a normal thing for us the little things creep back into the factor.

Lots of stuff. You're talking to a group of people that weren't satisfied with buying drugs and learned to manufacture their own higher quality stash.
Personally I'm a big fan of crack. Only did it a couple of times and had so much fun that I decided that was enough

My local hydro store is a rip off. $13 for a bag of shrimp/lobster compost. Homedepot has $2-3/bag of cow manure. However, I haven't checked if they have vermiculite thanks for the tip!

The shrimp lobster is superior by far, but you could get more mileage with vermicompost and crab meal. Really bagged anything is a ripoff, poop literally drops out of animals all day all around us. Unless you're stuck in a major metropolitan area you don't have to go far to find poop.
