So I harvested my JMF tub 2 nights ago and there was about 3.4lbs wet, started with 4 myco qts and 2:1 ratio coir/spawn. Is that pretty good?
I have just been attempting to twist/pull harvest so far but I really tore up the sub doing that on this tub because they were so clustered and dense. I was hoping for a second flush but I don't know if I'll get one now that the sub is so tore up. I did some heavy misting a few times a day to get the sub back to decent surface conditions. Any thoughts on if this tub could produce a second flush? And any thoughts on bods floating method for harvest? Is everyone cutting at the base, or twisting/pulling in monotubs?

I twist and pull
A lot of people cut.
I think itβs largely preference. Your sub can take some abuse and still give you another flush. If itβs really really bad you can patch with coir, but I wouldnβt worry about it

Awesome I have Ghosts and PE looking pretty good on agar atm. Have you grown Nepal out before?
I stopped messing with all the different cube varieties some time ago but I think I'll give them a go again. I'll probably streak Nichrome's Playa x Uvita next.
I've been a firm believer of a cube is a cube for a long time but I have started thinking about that a little more recently. Is genetic lottery truly the only factor at play in terms of effects and growth? I dunno.
Either way more varieties = higher probability of finding true winners.
So let's get eeeet!

Hey this is⦠sorta cultivation related?
Iβm making a bunch of shroom chocolates for Christmas, and I thought it would be fun to try some with Andes Mint chips. Turns out they are amazing both in taste and workability. They melt down very thin; you donβt have to add any oil, and once cooled itβs hard like magic shell.

I saw you'd been working on ESS. I've seen it mentioned over the years but never really knew a whole lot about it. Anything you can tell me about it?
Now the cigarette butts is something I'd like to see, gonna have a looky

It's a cross of PE and KSSS created by Muda and is featured in most of the pics on the bottle tek write up.
Haven't really seen anyone growing it in my 3 years doing this. Got a couple of sets of swabs from an OG recently after being on the lookout for about 2 years.
I've recently learned a couple of other folks had lost their cultures a while back. Who knows, maybe the person that hooked me up is the last to have any of it. I'm hoping to change that.
The cigarette butts are being posted in my "I bet I can grow cubes on that" thread. I'm expecting pins any moment now.

Chitwan was my first grow so I'm takin' a trip down nostalgia avenue I didn't do it justice the first time I ran it (ultra bacterial noob-spawn) so I'd like to see what it's capable of now that I've got a bit of experience behind me. I liked it - I'd say about average potency but it seemed like it had more visuals than the 'standard' cube. Maybe I'm biased lol

My friend did an uncle bens rice bag grow recently. I read through the tek on reddit and there is a lot of info that is deemed incorrect here. Seemed like old info.
He did spawn to coco in a shoebox and got a couple oz yield.
Just wondering what people think of the uncle bens bag tek here.
My thoughts on it are that its nice and convenient not having to PC and make lids, basically skipping a good few steps of the process for a beginner.
Probably a gimmick compared to owning a PC and jars but it did seem like a convenient tek.
thoughts?

trolling brother? lol
ten years right, you surely know what people around here think of it
It is not well loved. Mostly because it is literally random in outcome and skips entire portions of the shit you should be nailing from the beginning if you want to learn the science of cultivating mushrooms properly
but if green looks good on you then by all means go wild

ten years of growing the way I was taught here
just thought it was neat and haven't been on in a while to see if it was talked about
for some reason, my friend was intimidated by pf-tek and had success with UB
