I'm super unorganized right now.  I'll tighten up my system as I go for sure.  I haven't even started a notebook/log yet.

The ones without caps look like a reaction to Lecanicillium fungicola. It’s often called dry bubble due to the dry looking blobs that occur. Those blobs are actually deformed fruits that have severe infection.

Thanks, Pasty.
I did notice the wrinkly dry appearance, and had a suspicion there might be some bacteria involved, but didn’t want to comment on subjects beyond my knowledge.

We appreciate you chiming in to fill in the details.

Look at this piece of crap :laugh2:

I was looking for an empty storage bin, and I came across my first "pf tek jar incubator tub" from last winter  it's black, of course, so I could keep my jars in the dark.. oh yeah, it's also got mylar on the sides to help hold in the heat from the reptile heat mat I had underneath..

I was ballin out with all the right, up-to-date, high-tek gear :laugh2:

Oh, how much I've learned from you guys in the past 9 months

There is nothing wrong with using an incubator, particularly in winter in shittier houses, extra particularly for agar since you don't need much space and get way faster growth at 80+ than 65.

I mean it could be done right and be a good plus to your grow or be done wrong and fuck everything up too.

Nice mylar though bra!

🤔 well, I guess we'll see how freaking cold it gets this year

I'm thinking I'll just put a space heater in my grow room for my cacti/jars.

I even had a Bluetooth thermometer in the tub that sent me notifications if the temperature needed adjusted :awesomenod:

An insulated box should be just fine. Mycelium makes heat biologically through metabolization. A sealed space with a couple hundred jars gets roasty toasty on it's own.

Just make more spawn if you can't keep spawn warm...

For sure... I'm not really worried about it this year.. I've got enough projects going that even if they crawl at a snails pace, I'll still be able to keep myself entertained

Last winter I was in that phase of watching everything way too close and being impatient.

Looking at that tub just kinda cracked me up by reminding me of how I'd do unnecessary things to try and speed up the process.

Thanks for the input Pasty.  I read all you TEKs, I'm a huge fan 😁 I think it's a bacterial thing based on some more reading as well.  Do you think I should increase FAE a bit to help the situation, or just let it ride?

Hey ladies n gents,
Hoping for some advice. Picked my first one ever today, below. Hopefully ya’ll think it was ready. The other two images, does anyone think there are any I need to harvest asap or let them all go a bit more? It’s hard to tell w the PE’s and I’m new to it.
Also, does anyone see any issues I need to address?
Thanks so much for any/all help!

Just twist them off the substrate when the caps open OR right before. I like trying to catch them right before they open, so I’d be picking those lighter colored ones…

Thanks! When they’re clustering like mine are, do you still try and twist them apart or do people cut them w a scalpel, etc?

Best to cut at the base, as low as you can go above sub level.
