All have been great, having only grown Natalensis for the past couple of years now, I've seen a looot of phenotypes and I'm constantly finding new ones - recently found my strongest yet, absolutely mind blowing.
Some of the phenos I've had recently:
*Extremely long snakes *Straight and solid stipes *Heavily clustering phenos *Fully white phenos *White with strong green nipples (this was the strongest culture I've had so far) *Huge caps that turn completely blue *Stipes and caps that go green (very dense) *Had a couple of overlaying cultures but very few *Typical golden cubey looking caps
Often have certain cultures of nat myc bluing which is cool
Got a lot of clones ready to go. You've just reminded me I need to pack your swab, just set a reminder to get it posted in the morning.

Lol 👍 right now I have 4 jars of nats on millet I'm about to spawn and another 24 jars to noc up today. I'm going to do a little experiment since first time with bird seed. Got 4 jars of oats and 4 of wbs and I'm gonna take 2 transfers from a plate put one oats and one wbs using 4 different petris so each petri noc up 1 oat jar and 1 wbs jar just to see which seems to preform better in my conditions. Can't wait have just enough knowledge and experience that's can't stop thinking of different "experiments" to try I LOVE THIS HOBBY. Can I get an AMEN!

brother!
Hell yeah man, get stuck in! Maybe the WBS will colonise faster than the oats due to more inoculation points, especially post shake? Haven't used either yet myself but that'd be my guess.
Always been a rye man but prepared some millet for the first time today. It's satisfying af in bags, in looks and feel, but I got that shit all over the floor..
Ended up making 2 x 8lb bags and 2 x 6.5lb bags
I feel you right now in regard to enjoying the different experiments, I've been doing this a long time so things can get kinda customary. I still enjoy what I do very much but need something more, so I've got a microscope on the way, going to play around with serial dilution and isolating monokaryons (single spores) of different varieties, germinate them individually, try and mate them to create crosses. Natalensis and cube crosses will definitely be in there if all goes to plan. I've been reading a lot into it and it's got me very excited.

What kind of potency are we talking about? APE-level?

Well see I'm on medication so I generally struggle to feel a whole lot from mushrooms, I've had APEs and only gotten CEVs, with these recent Natalensis I had 4gs and was getting a lot of OEVs all over the place and they were extremelyyy intense in general, unlike anything I've felt before.

Been noticing a bit of "natalensis" behaviour from tidalwave. It has on two different occasions formed the same kinda mycelial mat, and fruited on top of this, while a green mold of unknown identify was present.
Surprised by this, maybe there is these kinds of genetics in cubensis too, not super unlikely given the general similarily and equalness.
but it has never attracted the same kind of eyes on it maybe the search for always making pure spawn and axenic spawn downplays the reality of there existing genetics within cubes too, that more readily allows the grower to recuperate some losses from worse spawn than other genetics may allow
its a question at least. i know this is not super hot becasue we want people to produce good spawn, but over time, having genetics to throw at worse food, would be beneficial in totality in the long run

Looks like the "Hispanica' matured.
Really wondering what it is

It came from ultimately 2 years of work with a captainfuture Hispanica marked print.
Any exotics people weigh in?

How much water do you guys use for just coir? 650g coir + ?h20 = perfect
I usually use verm and don't have any. So I'm not used to just coir.
Plz & thx

800-850 grams of compressed coir, 2 quarts of verm, 1 gallon of boiling water. Makes 10-12 quarts of prepared well hydrated substrate.

It seems like we all talk about variations in coir so much the idea of trying to find a really solid hydration recipe isn't wise.
Instead of looking for a surefire ratio to hydrate your coir, practice recognizing and adjusting for field capacity. I always begin by prepping a brick with a gallon of water. I adjust that to field capacity with verm, but since you wont be using verm, it might be better to start with 3.5 quarts of boiling water and test it then. If you need more, add a little at a time until your mix behaves correctly. If you need less, I suppose you could in theory add coir, but I haven't ever done that so I wont speak to it.
I don't actually care for verm, but when it comes to getting my substrates field capacity just right, it's pretty useful.
