Ahaha I wish! After reading thru everyone's replies tho I realize I'm most likely getting lucky it hasn't contammed out. Just realized that even tho coir is supposedly non-nutrious that doesn't mean there isn't random other stuff in there when it was made that could mess it up. Especially from different brands.

I was thinking about when Bender put his arms back on when both of them are off and Fry says I don't know how you did that

Speak the gospel of the coir criticisians, Nate.
Ive ran enough different brands to notice differences.
To check your coir, you prep normally butt spawn it alone.
Good coir wont mold,
bad coir WILL. Either very visible, or a faint covering of green mold at the surface.
When you see discolouring/visible mold on your DRY bricks for the first time, one understands that neither all men nor all coir is equal.

Thanks! Really the way to go though is just to build one of these and it will allow you to do large bulk, sawdust bags, straw, coir whatever(not grain)

If it's easy, cheap, and safe hell yeah. Cook TF out of it all. Unless you're trying to preserve good enzymes or beneficial bacteria like pasteurizing straw or poo. Coir has none so blast that shit if its effient enough especially with ur profit margins anyhow 😉
You'd just use a high wattage temperature controller and install a thermowell in your steam barrel that your boiler runs to so it kicks the coil off at a set temp. Your steam barrel needs to let out pressure you can use a hose running down a water column so many feet of water is so many psi in the drum or just attach an adjustable psi release valve to the lid. Dont go over 1-2psi though the damn thing will be a bomb but it's definitely easy to maintain over 212°F temperature or less.

i wonder if cooking it at 350*f in an oven will sterilize it? for about an hour? mold dies quickly at 100*f+.

Probably could hydrate it and wrap it up tight in a turkey bag maybe?
