I bought 50 media bottles just for LC
damn is 50 enough?
Lol they were on a huge discount in lots of 10, I just couldn't help myself.. they were like £1 something each from my usual supplier.
30 x 500ml 10 x 250ml 10x 100ml
Smellyhobbit I personally drill and filter mine but I think unmodified work, I just prefer not to.. just doesn't feel right with LC

Go to target and find the baby stuff… they have a glass baby bottle that is perfect for liquid cultures… the glass is really thick and only an idiot would trust a baby to not knock out their little teeth…. You just got to put a little bit of silicone in the nipple for the needle. I think it cost 10 or 12 bucks…

I got a couple of the plastic ones also, they will work just fine…a few times… I just like the clarity of the glass and it doesn’t warp from the pressure cooker…

If any of you are bored I have an easy ask..
I have added a varieties list to the Species and Varieties page of the Wiki, because why not.
I know we won't get them all on there but eh.
You don't need to register, just click edit, and I'll be able to approve or reject the edits.
Go go go!
EDIT: Thanks kindly nektar61 for your contribution, I knew that was you as soon as I saw the varieties added.

Question about PE varieties and casing layers So now with pe i mix 1:3 cv then a inch or so casing layer over that of cv. Now once the first casing layer colonized they won't pin for me until I case again but even a 1/4" casing layer and fruits jump but not until cased again. Is this normal for PE or should they still pin with out the last casing layer?

The first casing (the thicker one) do you put that on when you spawn to bulk or do you wait for the part you mixed to colonize first?

No need to use foil, you don't tighten them fully but the rubber won't seal if it's flipped.

So looks like your question has already been answered. I have a question for you. Have you been running lids unnodded upside down? If so how do you like it? I hate it I've dropped my lids too many times. What I do is heat the rubber gasket with a torch and use the back of my scalpel handle to remove the seal. It comes right off when heated up. Then the lid sits perfectly on the rim of the jar and doesn't slide right off if you are being clumsy in a SAB. I don't really run unmodified lids I use SFDs and metals but I hate flipped lids. Hate them.

When pasteurizing, did you stir with something (unclean) to break up clumps? Or after cooling, reach in to pull/scoop some out with (unclean) hands or tools?

Id like to say no, but I had to have done something... I stirred it up with a plastic knife that was still sealed in its original wrapper (like to-go silverware from a restaurant).. and I only reached in using iso'd gloves.. I guess I wasn't as careful as I thought, but I've never had this issue before, so idk
@normalperson, it was sitting for a week, maybe 2 at most.. but I've had coir sitting for over a month without issues in the past, so I'm guessing something got introduced to it after cooling like egon suggested.. just not sure when, because I didn't really do anything differently than I usually do.
It's some reptile brand from a pet store... I don't remember which.. I just grabbed a brick while I was waiting for the hydroponics store to get the brand I usually use in stock..
