Ha ha! You’re hilarious bro. I bet outside it will be okay, maybe flush it with some water?
I wouldn’t worry to much about it. You made me chuckle.

Cross posting this jar from the contam thread...
I have a lot of suspension that this jar is contaminated.. I had a couple other jars from the same culture, that looked the same, and the contaminated before the first flush finished pinning..

It recovered quickly from a final shake, but so did the other ones See anything concerning? Should I just try and top fruit it or something? 🤔

ChildOfTheMoon said: To those who grow or store several genetics/strains/phenotypes, how do you label your agar and syringes to keep them apart? Tips for keeping track of genetics over time?
I’m growing several different types of cubes but don’t know which strains they were supposed to be. I’ve been cloning and spore printing interesting looking once and want to work more with genetics, but it’s becoming a bit hard to keep an overview of everything I have. Like I cloned a lonely big guy and a huge cluster of average ones, both leucistic and from the same tub (clone of a big one, that one cloned from a dried stem). How do I keep an overview?
Currently have two surprise tubs and 5 surprise jars going because of shitty labeling.
"AA2-1T3 31-2 27/07"
AA is the variety (Avery's Albino), 2-1 means second time starting from spore and first plate of that session. I also have AALFC, AACFC and AAFOTG, large fruit clone, cluster fuck clone, Food of the Gods (cloned from my book grow).
31-2 is a unique container identifier. 31 is the pressure cooker cycle (so 31st time I've ran the PC this year) and 2 is the number of the jar.
Last line is the date.
I keep a notebook that keeps track of each transfer so I can trace back all the way to spore.
So I'll have multiple containers with the same first line AA2-1T3 but combined with he second line I can trace cultures all the way back to spore.
I have a notebook to keep track of what gets transferred into what.
 Page from my tracking book
Thank you! Going to take inspiration from this, seems really clever. I hadn’t thought of keeping notes on the PC cycle and jars, but it actually makes a lot of sense now that I think about it.
My previous grain cycle had 4/8 jars contaminate (first time it happened too). I remember the order in which I made the transfers, and the first two jars (from the same plate) got the most, the third one less (from plate B), and the fourth one barely any (from place C), all I think penicillin. So I’m quite certain the two last ones contaminated from not sterilizing my scalpel properly.

Eww. I wonder if there’s a shortage due to the whole Russia situation?
I found a general store about 15 minutes away that sells a 50lb bag of millet for $35 or so. Way cheaper than Amazon, so I’m in.

Yeah man cost is a pretty big factor for me. The money you’re saving even with $2/lb grain is enormous when you grow your own, but still. $100 is an upfront cost I don’t want to incur lol.

I unfortunately jumped onto the reddit ID subs. Surprised at how many posts are just pictures of some random, immature agrocybe or laccaria that looks kind of phallic, and the title is “Some crazy type of albino Penis Envy?? Found in leaves and wood chips! How much should I eat?
I can barely stand it.
On a more related note, I am still seeing 50# sacks of rye at a grain co-op/feed elevator for $18-$20 out in the sticks. One sack will last most hobbiests years. It is worth the drive if farm country isn’t too far.
