I like when a bunch of junk is in my birdseed. When I grow a ton of mushies on whole corn and sunflower seeds within the mix, it continues to prove that picking that shit out is outdated advice. But Fruit?? really?

Yupp.. check out cracks no prep millet tek. I've got a batch of jars going right now.. only modification I do is that I do a couple jars with 1.5x the millet and water.. then I use those jars as g2g masters.. I still spawn the normal amount and just use the extra to inoculate a few jars

So I jumped on a good deal for rubber stopper injection ports and some synthetic filter disk stickers. Are these filters good for more than one use? Thanks for the link rotnpins

Curious myself. I’ve reused them with no issue but they never got wet during previous use and lids were still clean enough just to wipe down. If they have to be washed and will get wet I just pull em off and pop on another after lids are dry.

I use the stickers and use them multiple times. I cover the sticker with 2-3 layers of MP tape.

I love SFD stickers. Mine have made it through probably half a dozen cycles with no loss of adhesion.

I usually never pick things out of WBS, but last few bags had a few peas and raisins. I wonder if supply line issues had them have less of something else and more raisins. Birds will eat raisins, but seems a bad idea for shrooms. Peas are fine, basically close enough to a grain that mycleium grew on them.
Last few bags also had little to none of that bird gullet sand.

BTI (powder).
Put some in your mister and water your plants with the amount per liter or qt it says on the package. Kills all the larvae of fungus gnats so not the adult ones) where the 'soil' was treated. So after a few days most if not all of the gnats will have disappeared. They live very short adult lives.
In potted plants the bacteria stays active for weeks or even months iirc.
Has been working for me with 100+ houseplants and rotating x tubs in the same room reliably

It's not that different. It's just that Enigma gets better with time. Spawn to harvest I shoot for 60 days.. By then it's more than likely blueing everywhere already. It's about keeping it healthy as long as you can. It's not producing caps or spores and keeps gettung better until it softens. Then it's harvest time.
Imo growing Enigma is by far the easiest and best way to grow massive amounts of actives per jar/tub if you only want to/can grow cubes.
It takes a while and some getting used to but I've learned to love it.

I went postal on my fungus gnats.
I put sticky traps near the tubs, 2 different kinds.
Vinegar with dish soap in shallow cups or lids X6. They didn't want to fly down into my rigged up half pint jars. I changed the liquid every couple days to keep it fresh.
I also got something called a katchy which is a little uv light with a fan attached to it with a glue trap in the bottom. It was recommended by shaperdreaming the person who wrote my favorite shoebox tek. Worked really well. Not better then the apple cider vinegar just different. It works at night when the lights are off.
Then after about 5-6 days my fungus gnat problem was gone. It took a multifaceted approach to beat the little fuckers down here in Florida.
Those bastards weren't gonna get my shrooms!

Never had that problem
Have any of you tried using a food saver or something to seal prints that you plan on saving for a while in their own little pouches?

No but that's interesting.
We have a thread on vacuum packing, and I do it to very dried shrooms. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/27660402
I did have an idea of making spore prints laminated into "bookmarks" that would also include a QR code to grow teks, pass them out at shows and things like that. Did a post about 2 years ago: Spore print storage in lamination sealing. + with QR code for directions
I decided since that -It's not a great idea since shows intent and removes the loophole of "for microscopy only" -Isn't needed. Spores are spreading like...spores without this.
A lot of people aren't old enough to have ever seen a bookmark that is physical rather than software. But people like things they can hold in their hand. There would be a certain cool thing to handing out boomarks with these QR codes.
Could use a half a print. A half print is equal to many swabs, and gives you more chances to get it right than a swab. Even a quarter print if it's bigger. Less if it's huge. Basically a square CM or square half-inch of thick spores on foil.
I've seen a few posts on Reddit this year of people making spore print laminate art, but it's showing the spore print, which is not preserving the print to be used.
My idea was wrapping the print as usual on / in foil, folding over as usual, but putting in a bookmark lamination with some text, art, and a QR code that when scanned, goes to website with noob teks.
Would have to be not heat sealed, or only sealed on edges with low heat. Would also probably need some text in the bookmark art that says "don't open this yet, read this first" then show the QR code. - New accounts asking questions trying to figure out where you are from are probably narcs, trolls, or someone trying to get something from you that you don't want to voluntarily give / scammers. I'd block PMs from them and not reply. If it's really weird / seems like a scam, I'd hit the report button at the bottom and have a mod look at it. Mods delete a lot of accounts every week here of people trying to "pull something off."
