Lol, you are trying to make SSLC? For SSLC I use .2% so for 200ml that would be .4grams of agar. I think Doctor Mario and a few others go a little lower on the % but I could be mistaken. I use telephone brand agar and .2% does me just fine. Heres a good read SSLC by natedawgnow

I promise your room is neither clean nor still of air. It might feel like it, but it is not when it comes down to a mycology level. You can have a serviceable still air box for the price of a clear sterilite tub ($4.99 last I checked) and isn't that investment worth drastically increasing your odds of success?

solid advice... A SAB or flow hood are essential tools in this hobby imo... it doesn't make sense to not make that $5-10 investment to give you the best possible chance of success... I've only had 1 project that was a complete failure, and it was the only time I've tried working without a SAB.

Yes... Fooman WBS has many fans. Its really a simmer tho. birdseed goes in boiling water... left to sit off the burner for 20 minutes.... 40 minutes.... hours.... depends on who you talk to.

So since you can boil and fry mushrooms without (noticeable) potency loss I assume itโs fine too to heat up blue juice without risking messing things up?

Very helpful. Thank you.. I think that's the tek I'm going to use, except I'm going to merge the fooman tek and the reverse fooman tek and I'm going to rinse both before and after the simmer.
Sounds like rinsing is an important step. so why not do it twice, right?

Yup, gummies from a tea reduction is great. I am still ironing out a process that I love but here are some of the links I read and some of my notes. Search "gummy tek" to find more.

bw86 - Next gen gummies https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/27222123 Using this one. Notes: * Don't set dehydrator over 125f * Do refrigerate as often as needed to make it easier to remove from molds. They get insanely sticky as they get closer to room temp before dehydrating. Just pop them back in the fridge as often as necessary to get them all on the trays. * Always use "Clean-A-Screens" so they don't melt through the trays or stick to the Fruit Roll Sheets.

Um, yeah but unless I'm missing something the whole point of pftek jars is so you don't need a SAB or hood. That's what the dry verm layer is for.
No? I dunno I never done pftek.

I do 1g agar per gallon of LC, about 0.02% and it works great.
Just don't forget to mag stir while still hot after PC or you will get a layer of solid agar on the bottom!

Boil your mix before pcing and that solid puck at the bottom doesnt happen.
I always recommend boiling your agar whether youre making sslc or pouring plates.

I guess I just like over complicating things..
But I do think it's helpful for noobs to learn proper SAB and sterile technique while doing PF Tek. That way if/when they make the switch to grain, they'll already have a solid skillset-foundation built

I never get a puck at the bottom but the myc will colonize the surface and form a puck. I usually just wait until that happens, shake it up and call it good.

Thanks!! I've got 2 so I think I'll take one off and then run a cycle and see if it makes any difference, even though I'm pretty positive it won't. Seems like it's just something to get in the way. I just replaced the plugs and gauges on them and gave them a decent cleaning so it will be interesting to see how they run now
