Trying to make a little outdoor spot, under my porch. I took my old Christmas tree (lol) and wedged it at the base of the ramp of my back porch, so it's basically sealed off with the house, porch, and tree, then in lined that with boards. So it's like a square under there now. I also have a bag of manure. Should I add it to that square, water it, let it drain into the ground, then add my bulk sub and cover with coir/Vern/grass clippings?
Thanks for any help. Not trying to do anything crazy, but I'd like to get my psylocibe cyans or Ovoid going on agar and see what I can make happen outside.

Frame a corner off and cover both sides of the wall with plastic...Use a pre filter if its dusty...Wash your floors...

exactly, SAB is perfectly effective
but i just did exactly this last week, built a flow hood in a very crowded and dusty garage. I was really worried about it, because all my tools are still packed up, and i only had a few square feet of working space, and was constantly having to move boxes
it can definitely be done, just be careful. I did all the cutting, painting, etc, in the garage, fit it around the filter (still in the plastic) and then moved it to its permanent location, mounted the blower, put the filter in sans-plastic, wired it, put the top and front on, cut my plexiglass to fit (garage) and installed it (in location), and fired it up. i never exposed my filter to the garage air, didnt open it till it was in a relatively clean area.
good planning goes a long way, plan around your resources and needs

How do you guys go about running 1 quart of spawn?
I plan to G2G two quarts of PE, and spawn one of them just to see what's up.

It'd be a shame to rush it now huh.
Should I consolidate what I plan to G2G? Three days now and it'll be ready. The two full quarts are about done, the myco quart is 99.9

i only want to build a flowhood because im trying to go relatively large scale with gourmet species hopefully within the next year. i think making a small clean room is the way to go if i want it now. I may just build it indoor and keep it boxed up until i move my gear to an industrial unit to be honest. What i might do is build a nice large wooden still air box with a plexiglass lid for now, i really want to start working with unicorn bags.
I love the design of your hood c10h12n2oS looks great

Just butchered my first pour attempt. Got boil over with a regular mouth quart jar. The stack of dishes wouldn't fit in my SAB so I had to fuck around a bunch to get them out. Then I had to cut the remaining sleeve off to get the rest out. Spilled a bunch, got condensation, and only made enough agar for half of the plates in the sleeve. All in all, a fun experience. Time to make some more agar and hope the remaining dishes are still sterile.

With the agar, you can use a 1 liter smallmouth jar with a lid and a filter disc. You cut out a small wedge on one side and drill a small hole on the other and it pours easily...Just use 500ml in yout recipe and it shouldn't boil over. Use foil too.
Oh man van...I need the culture work to slow down....Almost there...
