I tried yeast a few times and it made the growth go wonky. I figured I'd just stick to MEA.

Yeast extract is high in B complex vitamins and helps cell growth.
I usually stick to lme these days but I just started some cosmoplex and wanted to use potatoes agar to see if I could get mature fruits like Mycoplex.

I saw the b complex vitamin thing before... Is that coming from the dead yeast?
Shit and it brings me back to peptone haha. I have peptone. How long does it say to cook that yeast recipe?
But see why would peptone and yeast be similar? Ones a eukaryotic bacteria(..?) And another a protein, similar to casein hydrosolate which is used in cordycep production.
And is it safe to say if the yeast weren't dead it could pose a problem? Endospores..?
Maybe a longer cycle than regular agar????
Maybe yeast extract is needed?!

I use Bragg Premium Nutritional Yeast. I powder it in a small porcelain mortar & pestle. Nutritional yeast is not an active yeast culture, it is a byproduct of the brewing process. It's mostly spent(dead) yeast. It has a "cheesy" umami flavor.
Edit.. The link is from Amazon, just for reference... I buy it from my local grocery store.

I’ve got 11 bags goin from shroom supply. Some with columbian rust some with b+.
Most of the b+ had their first flush within the past day or 2. All the bags that haven’t had a flush (CR and the other b+) look like they will flush within the next couple days.
Now, I get a letter that my landlord is coming up here next Tuesday when I’m at work, and they’re bringing the fire department to check my extinguisher. One can imagine why I’m about to toss this entire grow. I thought I timed it right, last year they did this in July.
Still, I can’t justify tossing a bunch of shit that hasn’t even had the first flush yet.
Does increased fae speed up fruiting times? Does increased temperature speed up fruiting times? Does increased light rotation (from 12 hr a day to 16 hr a day) speed up fruiting times?
I’m cleaning house Monday night, and would like to push at least a first flush out of each and hopefully a 2nd flush out of some of them. Any advice is appreciated, thanks

You know when you’re harvesting a mushroom, and it has a couple pins “attached” to it? How do you guys harvest the mushroom without disturbing the pins around it?
Usually happeneds if the mushroom had “fuzzy feet”, and I’ll slightly cut into the mushroom i’m harvesting so I don’t disturb the pins.

Yep, I've had to login 4 times in the last 10 minutes. Probably more info in the Feedback forum.

I haven't had the issue yet but I don't use a browser. I used a website to turn the shroomery site into a simple app and installed it on my phone. Maybe some maintenance going on?

Would bagging them up in black plastic yard bags for the day work? Maybe in the closet? They would be fine for 12 hours like that.
That is what I plan to do when the landlord wants to come have a termite inspection at my house in June.
I read that heat speeds things up slightly. It comes with contam risks though. If you raised the temp up to around 78-80 I bet you could get some growth happening pretty quick.
The light wouldn't effect them enough to matter imo and the increased fae could do the opposite of what you are looking for and stall everything if you increase it too much.
If it were me I would keep things how they are and just bag those bitches on Tuesday.
Good luck!

The problem is, it isn’t just Tuesday. They say they will be here sometime between Tuesday and Friday, they are not sure of the day, because there are 200 apartments here and they only do 50 a day. Keeping them bagged/boxed up like that for 4 days just seems asinine, and like I will have contams and no shrooms. I think I’m just going to crank the heat up to 78 for the next 3 days, I work 12 hours Friday/Saturday and I have plans Sunday.
Hopefully this works, I pulled the first flush from my best cake Tuesday, really hoping it can give me another flush before Monday at midnight, when I plan on cleaning house.

I just started growing again, can’t recall if they’d turn out well. I feel like if you’re harvesting over 50% of the tub, it may not grow much if at all but if you’re only harvesting a little bit I feel it’s worth saving the pins.
(Question was; When harvesting a mushroom that has pins that’ll rip out if you harvest that mushrooms, how do you cut the mushroom?) I usually sacrifice a little bit of the mushroom to save the pins.
