Thanks Smalltalk, this is actually very useful. I sometimes see my cultures recovering slowly (not dead, but may appear dead for a couple days). Of course it depends much more on species than anything but now I wonder if oxygen has anything to do with it. And sometimes they recover but they never gain the same vigor as before.
Then again, if you let them sit even in glass petris for a long time, the recovery is troublesome (glass ones usually have relatively good gas exchange). I'd need to do more tests to be sure but generally some species just like to be babied and transfered constantly, lol.

Also dont use Nestle baby food jars. The lids are made in a way so that resealing them/tightening them like other lids, is impossible.
Well played from the same company who's CEO said that clean water is not a human right.
"im from the lab no need for rehab"

Refering to the middle type, really shitty lid

Well, they need air at some point, we knew that, and I verified it in the experiment. Because myc would die, sealed in refrigerators. And jars with okay growth would stop at some point.
Its probably very specific to some species how low oxygen and how high co2 it requires during colonization
We know cubes are tolerant to this in their fruiting stage, because they fruit well in really low FAE environments, but they also seems to tolerate this during colonization (to a point)

Okay. If I do this in may, when can I expect to see shrooms? Will they come back next year too?
If the weather is good all the way through then 1-2 months later you should have mushrooms growing in there and yeas it is reoccuring so you'll have a spot to come back to yearly. Just make sure it's somewhere secluded so no one finds them and takes them before you come around
Last question, what is the ideal weather? Also, what If my dog eats them?

I am fucking TERRIFIED of my dog getting anything. I get pretty high on 1g and weigh 215. My little frenchie weighs 20lbs so she'd get zapped from the tiniest pin. I'm super careful when I harvest, go from dehydrator to bag and especially when I make chocolates but that scares the shit out of me...I'm not sure if I'm more afraid of my dog getting high or my wife finding out our dog got high, but neither of those are scenarios I want to find myself in lol

Itโs not ideal but dogs will be fine.
I have a chihuahua that always tries to snatch a shroom if sheโs around when I harvest. Usually if she gets a little one she just gets really goofy and hyper but one time she ran off with a fresh one that had to be 30g and choked it down in a couple seconds. Spent a couple hours under a blanket making really weird noises.
I thought for sure that would be the end of it but next tub she was prowling around again.
The first time it happened I called the vet and they just said if she starts acting weird give her a bone or something to distract her and leave her somewhere quiet.

I think if it were any of my other dogs I wouldn't be so uptight but my little bulldog has a lot of health issues...flat faced dogs can't breathe, she has an insanely sensitive digestive tract...she has a Neurology team that's 2 states away FFS I love the little shit but she has been one expensive friend over the years

I'm curious as to how you told them that happened lol.

My neighbors dog is tripping balls, what should I tell him to do? I don't condone it of course but I feel like if it would be poisonous to them they'd have that 6th sense to know better. My dog is pretty damn dumb though.

My cat likes to eat 3 day old dried up pasta she finds on the floor. Won't eat a bite of steak if you give it to her, but 3 day old Mac n cheese is top notch. I don't doubt she also eats bits of mushrooms she finds too. Pretty much if it's old and dried up on the floor, it's getting eaten.
And then she acts surprised when she's horking her guts up all over the floor. Fucking cats...

One day I was tripping and pretending I was a producer of dog treats (from the future) this snack was called Esa Lassi

Maybe the next product will have all the good vitamins and also a little bit of cat poop as well, so the dog feels even extra special.

We had a little blind/def 15 year old dog that couldn't navigate the house if we moved the furniture, but was a cat turd seeking missile in the yard. The neighbor put out food for every stray in the neighborhood, so there was no shortage. I started trapping the cats and bringing them to the shelter, a blind and def little dog barfing up cat turds on your living room floor every day is too much.

Almost every time my wife and I trip, our dog acts weird as hell. We always ask each other, did we drop some? Is the dog tripping? Iโve come to the conclusion though that the dog isnโt acting that weird. We are, and also giving her behavior an inordinate amount of focus.
We will be listening to music, dancing, and talking religion or metaphysics at 3am and the dog is always looking at us, being anxious and cocking her head, pacing and whining. Im always careful not to leave actives laying around or drop them, so it must just be our addled brains paired with the doggo wondering wtf we are doing up so late.

Dude word word on the dog acting weird when you trip! I have what i presume might be PTSD from a trip so i am not too fond of tripping anymore. But Everytime when I used to trip a few years ago my dog would give me the weirdest fucking looks. I am about 100% sure your dog can sense that something ain't right with you when you're loosing your ego and not acting like your usual self.
But that brings on another thing. In general, weird shit starts to happen when you trip. Like objectively weird fucking shit Wich would weird you out even sober. I have met strange animals, people, seen weird signs written on walls, everything. I can get when you see weird shit via hallucinations or have weird thoughts about the universe. But when objectively weird things start happening when you trip, that makes me bug out.
