I just started using liners this last round and I honestly have no idea why the fuck I waited so long. They're amazing. My jars have to get washed every time though. They're clean and no mold but my brain would short circuit if I didn't wash them.
Not mushcult but some of you are pretty botanically savvy as well:

Any idea why my Piri Piri pepper plants are yellowing and starting to curl? None of the common causes I've found online seem to fit my situation and it's the only pepper variety out of 12 doing this. They're all grown in the exact same environment

I think I was just a little early but not much. I figure I've got about 6-7 weeks yet before they go in the ground. Hopefully sooner because my tomatoes are getting frickin' huge lol. Those were DEFINITELY started early
I was feeding them an organic bat guano liquid fertilizer blend when they were seedlings but once I transplanted them into a rich compost blend I was just hoping that had more than enough nutrients and quit fertilizing. Maybe I'll give them a good feeding next time they need water
I've got 2 each of 12 varieties going. I'll be more than happy to send you a freezer bag of peppers if you want to spice up your life

Shit even if it does get some mold I donβt wash it out half the time unless it got bad. Pc handles that no problem.
I do get a little more grain stuck to the bottom of the jar each run so gotta scrape it out eventually
Liners like grocery bags on a shoebox or trash bags in a mono where you can just grab the liner and tie it up and the sub is inside ready for the trash is great.
Do you leave the entire bag, uncut, but stuffed under the sub?

What is everyones LEAST favorite part of cult? Mine has to either be babysitting the PC or washing dirty jars/tubs (this is my attempt at getting this thread back on track lol)
Mine is throwing out moldy spawn into a garbage bag. The worst

also, opening a jar of moldy spawn, even in bleach water be like olympic-level dodge-ball with a gazillions teensy spores. i thought that was the source of the mold farm, but, since i changed coir and started beating the fuck out of it with a paint stirrer, i am doing pretty well.

I open jars in open air and watch the green fill my kitchen air as I dump it in the bin. No fucks given...
And yes, it makes zero difference.
A buddy of mine called me last night saying he got a metric ton of fine vermiculite and 250kg of uncut tobacco. I don't smoke but I do use vermiculite π, he also supplies me with iso by the 5L, nice to barter with mushrooms.

Yes it was said in a light-hearted way, obviously you should be careful from a health standpoint but in the cultivation sense it's not this crazy game of chess like some people would like everyone to believe.

Uhhhhhm. Are Lions mane albino? Is that's whats in the first pic?
I can see lions mane and oyster spores no problem, and the LM and oyster spores are white / clears. And they are much harder to see than purple cubensis spores as they are smaller as well. I actually haven't gotten around to putting albino spores under the scope yet, idk maybe I have an forgot. But you should.
And apperantly anything over 1000x is just going to hurt your eyes and make you work harder to see nothing morefrom what I understand like can only travel through like 150nanometera or something like that, so basically it can only travel through certain bits of samples or organisms and at a certain point you don't see anymore, you can make the image bigger say with another magnifying lense, but you don't see more because of the lack of resolutions basically. Google it I'm sure you'll find a better answer, even on YouTube . I actually took my emulsion lense off because I never use it.
And by transmitted light microscope I assume you mean a regular compound
If you want I could probably go try in a bit. Nice to see someone else with a microscope!

*How did you sample and mount that??? Or is that just a piece of tissue under the scope??

Fucking tight, I've seen magic myco do samples like that I think. I'ma read that shits.
You got tips for sampling mycelium to view for clamp connections? The problem I face is pretty much bunching all the filaments together and it makes it harder, but if I take a sample from the leading edge there's usually a part thinned out enough to look into it appropriately.. I haven't isolated anything yet, but ide like to be able to veiw potential cantidates easily.

Sorry, haven't got too many tips. I'm still kind of a microscope noob. Don't even own stains. Those were mounted in tap water.
