The blue oyster is ready, I've not familiar with black king but king oyster mycelium is usually a lot thicker and that jar does not look fully colonized from the pic. 3rd jar doesn't look colonized either but that's normal for lion's mane, if it's colonized just super wispy and thin, then it's probably ready, I just can't tell from that pic

What makes you think that? Usually the grain sticks to the glass if it's a little wet and the myc has a hard time colonizing that part. I used to always think that it was a bacterial issue but it only happens to the ones against the glass so I've been contributing it to just being wet and stuck to the jar. I've had some pretty bad bacterial jars and they always sweat pretty bad. These jars had no condensation at all.
Fluffy mycelium is another thing I look for but I didn't give it much thought here. These came from Nat plates and Nat is... well, Nat. It does weird shit lol.
Bacterial infestation doesnt always have to be super bad. Not saying the jar is toast, I just wouldn't trust it 100%. Looks like some cloudiness in the uncolonized parts too. If you want to test it, put some on Agar and see what grows.

It's typical for Penicillium to grow relatively slowly, and have olive green to turquoise color. Which is what we see here, so it most likely is Penicillium.

. From DocMario
Doesn't the disorganized, fuzzy appearance on the grain also indicate contam?
Right Adas?

Disorganized, fuzzy appearance? I'm not sure that's a helpful description. I would say most healthy jars have a fuzzy appearance. And what do you mean by disorganized? (Sorry, not trying to answer for Adas just trying see what you're referring to exactly)
I agree that jar shows signs of bacteria, but it doesn't look too bad to me either. I'd spawn it in it's own sub.

Hi Forrester, awesome avatar... Don't know who I got that idea from, but the little strands on a grain would be headed out in a more organized fashion vs. a kind of helter skelter not straight going different directions. Ya two kinds of fuzzy. The straight arrow good myc and the kinky contaminated myc!
So ya, my info could be totally bogus...
Edit:

Cubensis mycelium, meeting with the mycelium of a contaminant mushroom mycelium, this is a tricky one. Cubensis is more silky, and always flows, notice how the contaminant mushroom mycelium does not flow, and looks similar to cobweb mold - Tmethyl
. How it should & shouldn't look Maybe I got the wrong idea about this example.
the very last picture is oyster mycelium eating the contamination, oyster mycelium is very tough. - Tmethyl . Go Oyster, go oyster!

 Never happened with these.
This one is Penicillium.

Ah I see what you mean. No it's pretty normal for it to look fuzzy like yours, that's just the mQuote:

Ah I see what you mean. No it's pretty normal for it to look fuzzy like yours, that's just the mycelium growing tomentose. Look up tomentose vs. rhizomorphic mycelium growth to understand the difference.
It's not important which you get, the same clean culture can show both kinds of growth depending on conditions.

House of hydro is pretty dope. They're considered the Cadillac of disk foggers for our purposes.

The last ones are very advanced and expensive.
They make a super fine dry fog depending on the nozzles. The fog won't wet anything and they don't drip or anything. They are more commonly used in Asia but also in advanced manufacturing plants and places like that.
It takes a water line and an air line and to run.

Quick question,
I've never had this crazy standy-up tendrily type growth in a tub before. It's not bad tho is it?

Just very rhizo growth. The 2 or 3 times I’ve seen this I’ve ended up with a decent yield. Unsure of the correlation though if any.

I had an Averys Albino culture that did that. It looked cool but it made a bunch of tiny mushrooms.
