Apologies in advance but I’ve been looking at my phone all day for updates and there’s literally fuck all. I’m guessing because a good portion of people are American which makes sense, there’ll be in bed as I’m waking up and starting my day. The early birds will probably be up at like 15:00-1600 GMT so here’s one for us (quite drunk so forgive me).

My observation was related to your overt belittling of another members method, by stating “that’s cute”. I found it ironic as, in my humble opinion, gummy bears are about as “cute” as you could make what you only now purport to be using as medicine.
Only after that do you offer insight to a past propensity of “eating them by the handful without giving a moment’s thought”. It calls into question good judgment with regard to self-medication for “mental health” and dosage.
I hope you find what you need, but honey vs. vinegar, with respect to the community.

All the canna coir I've used in the last year turned green. It went green at an odd time and didn't matter how I prepped the stuff. Cold water, warm water, pasteurized, boiled, boiled frozen and boiled again. All green. I think they add some kind of fungicide or conditioning chemical to the stuff. Trich dies at pasteurization temps.
Same batches of spawn worked fine with other coir. Fuck Canna.
Here is a batch that just sat in brand new washed buckets that were then swiped with alcohol. This is not trich but it's nothing I want.

Could have just been the batch that came to this region. Not something I want to test.

it's interesting how personality and maturity can be communicated by texts in, basically, a bulletin board community.
See, the thing is, if I come in here all combative and defensive and whatnot, then I don't need to come here any more. Because no on will play with me. And this place is the best place for OMU.

Y’all accidentally replied to me with advice about not being combative. It was the other dude who was calling someone an asshole and all sorts of other “vinegar” level venom and hatred. Hopefully you get it sorted and that helpful guidance hits the correct target.
You also missed a rather important bit of my quote: AFTER DECADES OF “eating them by the handful without giving a moment’s thought” TO THE TASTE. I didn’t say I’ve been eating mushrooms for decades for mental health benefits, nor did I say that since I started eating them for that purpose, I still eat them with no regard for the dosage or my safety.
But hey, no big deal. I don’t feel any need to call you names, or make derogatory judgements about you as a person, or really go off on any sort of hate-filled rant about you. And that’s even after your overt belittling of me. So, again, I hope you’re able to get that friendly advice to anyone who might actually be engaging in that sort of caustic and toxic behavior.
Have a great day, bud!

dunno, seems like you have upset the playful atmosphere we enjoy. not just one or two people have gently indicated an attitude adjustment might be beneficial. this is a community. i have no stake in this and yet you’ve annoyed me enough that i am saying something. i see how well you write, seriously. i can’t believe you can’t hear the combativeness of your language.
maybe just look at your side of the street, see what you can clean up. might be more fun for you. believe me, i’m a tetchy fuck at times; self-examination has been uncomfortable.
on the other hand, with only 463 posts in over eight years i wonder if you just come here when you need something.
i get to this by being on the planet a long fucking time, awake.
regarding your needs: have you considered natalensis? people’s pics show practically all stem. and i’m told they are stronger buy a long shot, too.

I'm looking into "Texas Orange Cock" which I'd never heard of before, but saw a picture with very thick stems and relatively small caps. Hard to tell if it's just that pheno or the variety itself, but a generous soul was kind enough to shoot a couple spores my way, and I'll enjoy growing something new even if it doesn't end up being exactly what I need.
I'm also checking out sclerotia. The stones are purported to have more alkaloids by weight, so that would mean less material to get the same effect. The stones also don't produce spores, from my understanding. So if I'm on the right track with my theory about the spores containing most/all of the taste and stomach irritants, they might be perfect. For some reason I'd always assumed that stones required more work than basic cubes, but the teks I've read all seem about as simple as you can get, so I'm excited to get spores of Tampanensis that another generous member said they'd shoot my way.
Additionally, I've been chatting with my brother-in-law (who is a PhD research microbiologist) and someone over in the research forum about various filtration options: centrifuge, Buchner filter, filter bags, filter syringes... so many options. Anyway, he's putting together a sample package from his lab so I can try different methods, pore sizes, and materials to see what works best.
Should be an interesting month or two of trying new stuff, at the very least. Appreciate the reply bud, have a good one!

Never heard of “texas orange cock” lol. I wonder if it has any relation to pe6 which was initially meant to be a cross between Texas orange cap and pe iirc
