Is it common to have a cube (twc) to sporulate both black and rust colored spores?
My latest printing of twc pumped out rust prints.

DERRAYLD said: I need some opinions here for my own sanity.... Looking at these jars of lc, would you say there is any possibility they are 2 days old from wedge inoculation?

I don't see a stir bar either.
That's some pretty fucking fast growth for two days! They all seem to be cubes as well. Maybe it's a super rich broth?
Don't we keep nutes down to encourage growth?
I don't believe that's two days.
Maybe I'm getting my wires crossed, I remember a thread where someone ran a bunch of different LCs, ranging from lower nutes to higher. iirc the higher nute LCs were darker but grew quicker and visa versa.
But like I said, I could get muddled, wouldn't be the first time.

I just switched from 4% LC to .5% and the .5% grows much, much faster.

The thing is, why run high nutrition at all?
Let's hear why.
For agar and LCs i don't see the purpose, even minute amounts of nutrition produce vast amounts of mycelia,
Myc behaviour, the type we want usually, for agar work, for isolation, for cleaning up, all benefits from lower nutrition because of stuff like fruiting, rhizo, fast expansion.
What is the place of high nutrition agar plates or LCS in the hobby?

Is it always a good thing/helps to add a layer of CV once the cake is fully colonized or just for blob prone mushrooms?

It's not necessary, and CV isn't considered a 'true' casing material so it doesn't function the same anyway. If you're running a 'normal' (non-PE) cube variety then as far as I know casing doesn't really have much benefit or draw back so you can just let it ride

Possibly for germination plates to help the spores kick off? But in saying that it will also help contam germinate easier too

Is running a plate from a plate pin the same as running a plate from a single (as in a single, stand-alone) fruit clone? I mean, aren't they both clones of fruits that weren't from clusters?
I have a clean plate of Ghost ready for grains tomorrow but I'm just wondering how I should treat it. If I had a healthy clone plate from a cluster I would spawn a full tub, but it's from a plate pin so I'm just wondering if I should run a shoebox/16quart? I'll probably do a 16quart box anyway, it's just kinda interesting to me

What are the prices like on the electric autoclaves? Babysitting the PC is the worst. May invest in a little nanny cam and set it up on the pressure gauge so I can monitor it from my phone in the living room.

First shoebox of PE. Some are ready to harvest, I think. Should I wait for the rest to catch up?

Higher nutrition is good for slants/long term storage. It prevents pinning. Also, exactly, for promoting germination like you said Monsta

Nah I’ve got coins taped to my weight so if it starts jiggling I’m at about 20PSI and need to get the fuck up and turn the hob down!

So how about this electric autoclave https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Autoclave-Steam-Sterilizer-Portable-Stainless-Steel-High-Pressure-In-220V-/203588929329?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0
Apologies for the link, I can’t upload a screenshot as it says the file is too big.
This looks like kind of a budget all American. I think the brand is BBY. It’s only like £100 more than I paid for my induction compatible presto 23qt.
