Take your average day time temp, divide it by your average night time temp, multiply it by the average ambient RH, which in turn is divided by the RH in the tub, then add the number of cakes squared, minus the size of the tub. Once you've calculated that wait two extra days, and then wait till the mushrooms have grown.
Or more simply stated.
ETA=Δd/Δn(RHa/RHt)+(cakes2-Tub)=ETA+2+patience
I think I remembered the formula correctly

Don't you have to convert earth days to to mars or is that only for Pans? Just be glad we're not in a leap year otherwise your calculations will be skewed

It was updated to meet mushroom standard time in the 70's IIRC.
The answer is patience. Mushrooms are in charge and they show themselves when they are ready.

Then i let them sit overnight to absord most of the water. After that i shake em up. No problem. I jst use them cheap sfd stickers off amazon. Stuck to top of lid over 1/4" hole.
I had the Amazon SFD stickers put on the top of the lid, but then saw recommendations to put them on the under side of the lid. The reasoning given was so that they'd be less likely to blow off the top side of the lid during PC. Basically if you put them inside the filter gets pressed against the lid when the jar gets pressureized.
If I think about the downside, however, placing the SFD inside might make it get more wet/contaminated when shaking up grains. I'd be interested in practical experiences of those who might have tried either way and what results they are getting.
Thanks!

My presto PC manual says not to exceed 12,000 BTUs or to use burners like that but I suspect it's because of how powerful those burners are so damn powerful. If I were to do it I'd run it on low for sure

Yeah quite a few people here use burners.
Like he said most of them are way overpowered for smaller PCs so keep it low and be careful.

I use a 200,000 BTU Concord burner. But so far only for boiling water for coir and for boiling oats. Wouldn't put my Presto on it, too hard to keep low enough.

That will work great for a 941. I wouldnt run a presto on it. That burner looks like youll be able to dial it in nicely

it will be near impossible to run a 15qt cooker at pressure on that 200k BTU banjo burner.
Get one that is low pressure. They are really cheap too, like $20-$30.

Hey wonderful people of the Shroomery
I inoculated a 2qt container of BRF with a MSS spore syringe 50 days ago( like you can see in the pictures in this thread)because I had some leftover substrate and spore solution. I never thought that it will fully colonize and I was pretty sure it stalled already a while ago.
Today I decided to trash it but I discovered that it is fully colonized and that I had mistaken some of the verm barrier for uncolonized substrate.
I am pretty surprised that there still seems to be no bacterial contamination. But I don't have any experience besides my first grow ^^ so could you tell me if that's surprising or just the way healthy mycelium deals with bacteria and the benefits of a wide an short container?
Cheers

Second that advice. I do seafood boils and have both a small 4" burner (turkey fryer size) and a larger 10" banjo burner. The 4" would be plenty big enough for a small PC.
