Can someone tell me what’s going on here and are these safe to eat? Obv spores dropped. I was busy and neglected them for a few days. I noticed those spots and the caps and then when I’m cutting them the whole inside of the stem is blue. I thought maybe bruising. I think I had some blue bruising from dehydration but then there’s that huge blue spot on the cake also. Is this mold?

Question. If cubes like to be in a room around 69f. What does that make your substrate at? 3f higher? ish?

You measure and let us know. If your sub is not axenic then you may get a different reading than otherwise.

Ah, I'm realizing that my tightly stacked totes are warmer than optimal because they are trapping heat. I'm gunning for lower room temps now to compensate. thus my question. they were up around 78f(substrate surface) when the overall room was 72f. I was getting long skinny stems.
The totes that do tam out are often 3,4 degree warmer. I'm mostly getting numerous flushes with no contams.

Maybe somebody hacked his account?
Well, if so, you gonna try them to see if they provide a real liberty cap trip? <<NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!
'Cause that would definitely settle it, and aside from one isolated "yes" that thread is undefinitive...
At least the brown spore prints explain how the print could've snuck in there.

I just had a employee at a garden store try and convince me perlite and vermiculite are the same thing!
Wtf.
He asked what’s it for?
I told him. Then…He said he puts perlite in his PF cakes!
I don’t believe this guy! Ha ha.
Then, when I was walking away laughing at him, he tells me to try it.
Ummm. No.

Who here at shroomery actually does gene sequencing of mushroom tissue - would it work to send someone properly packed dried tissue to determine the false semilanceata?
I'm looking at options locally too, seems expensive to get done for a private citizen

bioassay.
But what you want to know first is whatever you grew likely poisonous. With the range of quasi ID you got I wouldn't try it.
Why not PM Alan directly and ask him why he thinks it's what it appears he said? One way to be more sure...

Hey smalltalk I actually just discovered your thread in MH&ID. Looking at your fruits general appearance reminds me of what my fruits looked like in some cases, the only thing that is throwing me off is the veil remnants on the caps and stem which I have not encountered in this form so far but the sheer diversity of phenotypes in just that one grow I did shows that there is a lot of variation possible.
The spore prints I took were more brown than purple after they dried and I had fruits bruising at the base of the stem.
I myself doubt sometimes that my grow actually is what I call them but TBH there is no way that I could have mucked that up as I am not juggling lots of different species at the same time and I do know semilanceata inside out as I am experienced hunting them over the last 30 years.
So what you grew out there are not my genetics? What is this image showing very different looking fruits?

I will definitively send a sample to alva lab in spain if I'm successful with my next grow. This needs to be clarified for good.
This is yours:

and now reposting some images from my thread for direct comparison and to show the different phenos I encountered (see link in my sig).

15€. Simple
Whoa! Last I checked they were like 35+euros. I'm probably going to grab one for L now. How much is shipping? Probably a bit cheaper for you..
How much of a sample by weigh do you have to out in there?
Edit. Lol idk it says it's like 16E for a kit, but then says shipping is 30E but then it says my total is like 42E. Ha idk. Whatever guess I'm waiting for now. Said it would have shipped for 3 if I was somewhere else ha

Totes have gone up in price quite a bit.
The sterlite 56 qt have been replaced by the room essentials totes at target.
Looks like I need to start grabbing the ole reliable 66qt tubs at $8 per.
Or hit up walmart and get the 58qt tubs for $5.50 a piece, I think those are what ted uses.
