I'm contemplating starting an outdoor grow with aims of collecting a first harvest next fall. I'd like to get spores and get them to wood chips in the coming months so that I can establish a solid grow bed in the spring. I live in hardiness zone 6. Is there a wood lover that can tolerate this zone perennially?

Fruited my first "maz" or mazapec labeled strain today, looks like it will be just another cube

In other news fate again struck Smalltalk to torture him
I had a throwaway GT jar throw out these super canopy genetics, but the sub was entirely to small, so only four fruits matured because of lack of water
What would be meaningful to do is clone, but they are probably ruined by the overwatering in attempt to give em water.
Wasn't able to think of a trick there, is there even one? Actually flooding the sub in the bag?;

I have a question. My first flush of KSSS pins from an LC I received came out like this..

The second flush is coming in like this..

It almost looks like a different variety of cube. Is this genetic? environmental? Just what some mushrooms do?

Follow the link below and look up what active mushrooms are growing in your area, if here is a wood lover in the mix then use that species for your patches.
Which psilocybin mushrooms grow wild in my area?
iNaturalist and Mushroom Observer are a good source as well.

I've discovered a horrible flaw in my wbs which is quickly leading me to not use wbs again after this. I'll add some photos later but I noticed during a boiling water soak when I dispersed the grain on the screen there were black blo s that looked like dung almost but I quickly realized it was old sorghum that seems to rot very fast and produce grey molds even after a 2 hr pc at 17-20 psi.
Bags left without any form of inoculation, just left in the cupboard are showing clear molds, water submersion doesn't show any holes in the bags either. Straight millet does not have this same issue, pc'd both at the same time in the same pc.

That’s normal, each flush can be very different. They usually have less fruits but bigger each flush also.

Folks who use window screen or aluminum screen on your dehydrator racks, is there any concern for the drying mushrooms to absorb any unwanted chemicals?
I'd imagine something is released when cooking aluminum or fiberglass screen at 160f but i'd love to be told otherwise.

Or use oven baking paper instead?

I’ve used aluminum foil and didn’t notice anything.
It’s made for cooking so I’m assuming the dehydrator is ok. Never know though, paper would be a sure thing.

Parchment paper doesn't allow much airflow near the center so if you have a lot to dry it is not good to use.

Lol I didn’t even think of that when I wrapped my bottom tray in foil to catch the aborts and bits that fall through.
Ended up poking a billion holes with a syringe. I think they sell special grated mats that fit the trays too.
