Jesus sandman wtf is that thing??? You didn't make that did you? What's that ammo case looking thing?
Well I'm stoked to learn more about that, maybe it's a really important factor I've overlooked.
And munch word, ya I always have my PCs outside.. but I'll keep an ear out for that now also

Ya, it can be a bitch running em outside if u dont have a good wind block. Youll have it perfect and then the wind dies down and all the sudden youre at 30 psi or vise versa.

No, there's a reason wikipedia specifies the water example as 204.4 °C. A total BLEVE won't occur at 121 °C because there are only 21 degrees "extra" energy above the atmospheric equilibrium point. That's not enough energy to boil much of the water. (It is enough energy to pop bags, of course.) You can see this because removing the rocker only boils a small amount of the water. The 30 second difference between that and "instant" is immaterial, except for not having a mess on your ceiling.

Who here uses unmodified lids for LC in half pints?
I’ve got a magnetic stirrer and whatman filters, I was going to JB weld the filters on along with a luer connector so I can draw and store syringes easily.
However, JB weld takes 24 hours to be fully protected against high temps IIRC, and I want to make my LCs today.
Is there a significant benefit between having a filter and a stir bar vs the unmodified lids?

When you put epoxy in an oven, it becomes less viscous but also cures much faster. If you don't apply it in a really thick layer (a thick layer might flow out of the joint if the formulation doesn't contain enough silica thickener), the only result of pressure cooking it will be a complete cure in probably ten minutes. Flowy resins can also boil out their solvents in an oven, but I'm pretty sure JB Weld doesn't have that problem. And at PC temperatures you aren't taxing JB Weld's capabilities at all. Even cheap resin epoxy can get to 200 °C without losing integrity. I should know--I accidentally spilled some in my oven and will never be able to get it off.
Moisture curing silicone also cures faster in hot steam, but the speedup is less dramatic than for epoxy. It should sufficiently cure in one pressure cooker cycle.
Edit: with unmodified jars, you will have air ingress, which may or may not be clean. Are you feeling lucky today?

i use plastic unmodded lids for my LC no filter or holes. I do use a mag bar just to break up the mycelium, but this can be done by just swirling the jar no bar needed. I do leave the lid on lose that is far as I go. I am not 100% sure if it matters or not never ran mod lids.

Hey man, thanks for the reply - I knew that about silicone, but JB Weld isn’t silicone. I’m using it as part of sandman’s LC lids tek, where you attach a luer connector in which a syringe can directly screw on, no injection ports. There’s too much movement on the port with silicone.
I don’t really know what air ingress is if I’m honest - but I’ll take your word and wait to use a filter.

I do not pack my cooker tight or put anything over my bags and never ever pop anything except in those conditions. And you might say I do a couple bags

each layer has its own rack they are not stacked.

Lc with no filter is fine, it’s just a huge pain in the ass to pop it open cuz of the vacuum.

I run with unmodified lids and no stirrers.

It’s quickly turning into the new trendy drug ripe for bullshitting, just like medical weed in California 20 years ago with all the new strains and names. So many people would only smoke whatever popular strain was going around at the time. Never thought I’d see label whores in the drug scene
It's all bullshit! You'll still see people advertising Sativa vs. Indica, even though there's been plenty of blind studies revealing it's all BS. Not to mention, WHAT COMPONENT MAKES THEM SATIVA OR INDICA?? You'll see dabs advertised as 99% pure THC, Sativa. So wait, if it's just THC, what makes it sativa? Sativa and indica are growing patterns for the plants, nothing more.

I think it’s funny how they label carts indica, hybrid or sativa, when they make a big batch of distillate and then just add different terps to flavor the cartridges.
It makes me so sad to see people growing weed like it’s corn. Harvesting with tractors and automatic equipment. Remember when people gathered to trim and “manicure” nuggets… now people are freezing it, blasting it with chemicals and putting it in little glass jars. Then put it in even smaller jars (gram pucks) to sell.
I was saying the other day they should make the pucks like an insert for a banger so you could get that last bit out, that would be a good bonus. We have to find a way to reuse the containers. Save em and refill em like they used to do glass milk Bottles! When your weed man stops by you give him your empty jars. Come on guys we can do this. I think people are even making building supplies.

Should these be given a few more days to colonize the top fully? The sides were all done like 3 days ago, but the tops are slowly crawling.

Is kinda wet, but the darker center is because lighting

Those look done.
A lot of times the top layer doesn’t really colonize if there’s enough fae to dry them out.
