It might help to search for for "86 mm" instead of "wide mouth". Because wide mouth is a spec about the jar, not the lid. (And regular lids are 70 mm.) It's funny that in my (limited) experience, jar lids are even more interchangeable than GL45 media bottle caps, which really should be much more standard!

This good?

I harvested this weirdo today. I'm guessing it got stuck like this when the veil popped.
It's pretty melded together.

That's true but Amazon is selling 2 piece lid sets for over a dollar a pop, at least for the brand name Ball ones which isn't that much more than SS lids. Not sure if the knock offs are just as good though, they're way cheaper.
I think I saw that you posted about using small bags and I'm curious about it but I like being able to noc up a bunch of jars side by side in the flow. Not sure how comfortable I'd feel doing that with bags what with all the sealing and stuff you need to compared to just replacing a cap--and the space that the sealer takes up. I know Ted does that with bag to bag in front of the hood but I feel paranoid doing more than one or two bags at a time.
Jars really are annoying though and although the 2 piece lids have pretty much stopped my mold issues they're definitely more of a hassle than plastic lids.
Which unicorn bags do you use for 1qt bags?
And good point gone-pear-shaped, ty I'll check that out.

I do about one master into like 4 bags reliably right now, messing with 6-12 and wanna try 18-24 soon too, and probably gonna start doing some bag to bag with bigger bags too. I was paranoid at first too and just did one master to a bag or two at most for awhile. But I started writing on each set of bags how many I transferred to (like 1/4, 2/4, etc if I was xfering one master to 4 bags) to see if there was a correlation with contams and higher number of bags per master, but it's been smooth so far at 4-6 so I wanna try 8-12 next.
I'm not really comfortable doing it Ted style yet either, with the whole line up of bags and all, but imo I'd rather spend less time cleaning jars and more time doing a2g and g2g than vice versa, but to each their own. I like not having any space taken up by jars when not in use now too.
I think these were the ones I got, I can mail a couple if you wanna give them a go before potentially throwing down cash: https://unicornbags.com/product/type-4tbox-of-1000/
Here's a pic of them, I put about 1.5-2qts in there but this pic I'm using them for in vitro fruiting some agar wedge fast:

Don't mean to sound like a salesmen for them or anything lol but I always hated cleaning jars and ended up with big piles of contam'd ones overdue for cleaning, so I've really been digging these so far.
**But you can always do all this same shit with a normal big bag too and just do bag to bag instead of jar to jar.

Works great with bags
Keep the pouring bag between you and the receiving bags when pouring. Can rest it anywhere in the flow when sealing

Hey BB, I was just in shroomsupply looking at the biodegradable ones, being an earth geek and knowing that only 6% of recycle plastic does get recycled. Anyway, it doesn't say 3T anywhere in the bags for sale, but does give flattened height and width measurements. Or if I look at each item detail, it tells me the number of quarts I can load in the bag. And they removed their phone number from the site or I woulda just called them.
I think there is a shroomerite discount code, but I can't find it. Do you, or does anybody, know it? I am getting bags and an impulse sealer since my 75x is expected Friday. [I am going to buy the impulse sealer from ss because with the shroomery discount it isn't much different in $ from uline whom I prefer to boycott [as much as possible] because of their nauseating politics.]
Shall I buy a reishi slant from sporeworks, or is it cool to ask if somebody here has a print or something?
TYIA

I have used the biodegradable bags. They work just the same. I buy the large .2 micron bags. I actually don't know what the promo code is.
I don't get into politics. I use uline because they are one state away from me. So shipping is always fast.
If you want a reishi plate, privnote me your address and I will send you one.
The price was the same from shroomsupply on the sealer, and I was buying the bags anyway. Unfortunately the biodegradeable ones were OOS.
I buy from Uline when they are the best dealer option for certain things, repirators and sheet cardboard, etc, for my art studio.
I usually stay away from politics, like with AA. Don't want my, or anybody's, shoomery relationships messed up by outside issues. I love the cult community.

I keep meaning to try some grain bag runs. Might be a lil hard to do in front of the 2x2 filter though. Not that doing jars is much easier.

My only suggestion is angle the bags when they're in front of the filter and work them 1 or 2 at a time. I had a 1.5'x2'hood for a while and it felt like there was plenty of space to work a bag at a time. Hope it goes smoothly!

i slid a shorter table up to my work bench so that only the top half of my bag is actually in the flow. giving me ~12inches of wiggle room to dump in some master grains.
who cares about the bottom half of the bag?

Is this what is meant by crushes to a powder dry? It's not fully powdered since it seems there are fibers.

I was just checking if I dehydrated them enough, but good idea. I'll probably make caps once I get more.
