Ya but why are you saying it? I feel like youve gotten a little but bugher of a head in the last couple weeks just saying stuff with that TC thing next to your name. Like the sanitized spoon thing. Shrooms, fhat?, both TCs had to correct you on that. I also use thag and you clearly would not believe it, i can find at leazt 2 post whwre you said it was a horrible idea, wpuldnt work, but it does.
And here your making observational claims, when just as easily i could ssy its genetics.
Give me one reason it would be mold vs genetics?? Or even mold over bacteria?
And duh cronicrs right, hes cronicr, not a new TC
But lets get back to the point

What's a horrible idea? Using a sanitized spoon to transfer sterile spawn to a nutrient rich environment?
That is a fucking horrible idea and nearly worthy of a noob crown. You might as well pur iso on a glove and scoop it out with your hands, this has nothing to do with being a new tc, it's common sense.
It will work, sometimes, just like scooping it out with a gloved hand, open air inoculation or using a box fan as a flowhood.
You haven't even grown out that culture and you're posting comments about it without even knowing owing how it performs. Great choice.

I’ve had plates with bare wedges like that with many varieties.
Actually right now I have some on plates of apeu, and Avery’s I think.
Whatever it is, it’s annoying as shit.

Lol no ots efficient and based on probability. You might learn more growing gourmets. I dont just do cubes, and i havent for years. Sorry if i dont have a couple words under my avatar on a forum...lol Well i guess some TCs are crowned noobs. We can just put thay behind us. It works, and youve never even tried it, but yet feel inclined to shafe your opinion to deture people aeay from something thay works because... well idk why. Cause your a tc i guess.
Im not making any claimes about the culture. You are!
What you mean posting comments? Ya comments, observable facts.
Not just saying its mold with absolutely nothing to base that on other than transfers and clones from already unique varieties.
Im not making claims other than ive seen it. You said mold.
Now prove it.

I trust nothing entirely unless it's that perfect uniform sexy jazz. I oughta get on that hole punch tool or something...
Chillax yall.
QM, you got the plate right? Run the culture while you work on your other cultures. Tell us if it's mold when you get mush or contam.

No the plates have been spawned. And the spawn is clearly bacterial, but not moldy. I might be able to find a pic but idk.
Ya no pics, i just wanted to rid myself of those cultures so i spawned them i think. I had like 4 or 5 and they came from a isolate plate, and the dishes i used were all sterile completely. I might be able to find one tucked away.
I just figured it was bacteria and i fruit baxterial shit almost cobstabtly sadly.

Well maybe you should start before you come around challenging claims about things you know very little about.

Yeah I consider it my obligation as such to inform people who wouldn't know better to avoid poor techniques, using non sterile technique is not recommended regardless of species.

And not just myself:

sandman420 said: That is also called scalloped edges for description sake, and is a sign of intermeshed mold like penut said.
You had no issue with this comment. I said that I suspect that it's mold, I am clearly stating that it's a contaminant based upon experience.

saying its mold with absolutely nothing to base that on
I wouldn't call months of working with those cultures nothing.

I've proven more than enough times that I operate in good faith.

And herein seems to lie the problem with you, you seem to have some kind of chip on your shoulder.

I grow both... have for years..
And it is reccomended, by me and shrooms at least. I lose absolutely 0% bags to q sanitized spoodle, if theres a write up will it become scientific proof? I do it every week, it would take no additional effort besides taking pics. I only lose bags to bad spawn.
Well thabk you for the sandman quote, scalloped edges, okay where can we learn more about this besides sandman? I looked around a weeks or so ago but didnt have that term handy. Maybe ill have more luck digging something up. Ide be interested whwre he got his info.
Sandman u out there?!
And like i said i let these plates develope for like 5-6 weeks and they eventually colonized the entire dish. Inoculqted, and i can take pics of the bacterial spawn. I wish i took a pic of the dish but i can swear it looked just like that pic posted.
Gain the experience? Brether i run the farm.
I think we should see if gonepearshaped still has the culture and let us monitor is.
So i guess ill look into scalloped edges and try to come up with some actual data on it.
Until then let me just take this huge chip on my shouleder that i seem to love to carrt for whatever reason, and go do some research for you guys. Since the best thing we got is a sandman quote ha.
And i dont get what mild you could possibly think it is, what molds are invisible to the naked eye compeltely developed. You never saw anything other than mycelium and blank spots on petris. Im really just trying to understand, and share experience like you. And the spoodle thing i can prove.

Perhaps a more accurate way of saying is that it has some kind of unseen contaminate or mycoparasite. Could be a bacteria or a mold. There are lots of possibilities that can cause a mycoparasite but it sounds weird to say that word here.
The truth is we don't know 100% of what goes on, even if we had all the fancy equipment this is complicated stuff to fully understand. The scientists with the gear don't know everything either they just observe what they can and report findings.
I think were all learning and trying our best no need to get too hung up when trying to help.
Perhaps a thread of it's own on scalloped edges / agar morphology would be great where we can all talk about our experiences and learn.
Usually when I left a plate like this to grow it just peters off and dies around the edge of the plate with whispy mycelium.
It aint good, hows that lol

I didnt understand why they posted a quote of you on instagram at first because i didnt know if the guy was saying if he was feeling like he was sharing info on the shroomery and he felt like people on here thought he was toxic. But after rereading i thibk hes saying that people he shares his info with can be toxic.
And from the beggining i was wonderinh if you just shared this because you think im being toxic towards you. Which i am not trying to be. I know im not as polite as i can be sometimes, but hey were all human.
