Yeah I actually got Canna because you recommended them
So just treat this the same weight/water ratio?

So that's intermeshed mold eh? I had that on some Melmak plates as well. Didn't knw if it was contaminated or sectoring. Now i knw. Thnx P9hu7!
So pouring 99% iso on the trich patches in one of my two last tubs killed the tub completely. The entire sub turned blue. Felt bad. Last tub is pinning and green mold showed up on a long edge 2day. Can see the green though the side. Jst starting to show larfy cotton above it. Prolly get some fruits off this one though.

Ready for all my flushes to be done so I can make some batches of beef jerky in my dehydrator before I go on a trip next week. Luckily I timed everything out pretty well. Will have jars that I shake just before I leave and some agar ready to go in some other jars. It'll be like I never left.

I really loved making beef jerky in mine…I think I’m gonna have to make some more
The shop near me was gonna throw out loads of fruit but I said I’d take it and made fruit rolls as well with it by mashing it all up and mixing it with honey and yogurt if I remember rightly…also pretty tasty

The plate I posted was also one of the PE varieties. Maybe it's a pattern. Though it could also be bias, because the PE varieties are so popular.

have you tried putting salt on the patches of trich? i do it sometimes if it's early in the flush & i've found it helps a little with the spores trich ends up producing

If I’m near harvest I usually fold up an iso soaked paper towel and press it down onto the patch of trich so it kills some and keeps the spores underneath.

I suspected it would be mold but I only ever got it from one particular variety and I never could clean it up.

p9hu7 said: My APE and melmak were both like this, could never get them to grow healthy or produce fruits, it was super frustrating. I eventually got a mak tub to fruit one sickly fruit which I cloned and then was able to work with, but that was pure luck.
When there's deletion zones like that it's all trouble.
So ive had this happen with ape also, almost made a thread about it. What makes you think its not genetics?

Do you need your hand held at this point?
Experience with working those cultures, this is implied in my statement.
I have worked many dozens of plates, transferred to many more dozens of jars, spawned to many a tub, shoebox, sweater box, etc.
Those plates are genetic in the sense that you're observing the genetic behavior of mycelium responding to the presence of a contaminant, my assumption is this this contaminant is mold, I have not investigated with a microscope however.
This has been my experience.
Posting here is not like applying to have a paper published in a science journal. I don't see how my statements require some kind of supporting documentation; I grow mushrooms every single day, this is my experience with dishes with that morphology.

So mold living in twine with the mycelium? Ive pondered this with bacteria, and cronicr told me bacterial rods have been seen side by side with myc in a micro. And im not saying it nots possible, but you had it happen with mac and ape, i had it happen with ape. I havent seen it anywhere else (links?!) And yes without verification idk if you should go around telling people their plates are bad.
What strain was that in the pic im wondering, gonepearshap??
I actually used those plates to make a bag of ape spawn i have right now. And its completely colonized, but probably bacterial. And I bet it will fruit some, but i dont think it will mold out.
And hibestly if anything i think its bacteria nit mold. What mold might it be. Cause ive had plates look like that, and stay unrefrugerated for about a month, and eventually it colonized the whole plate.

Wtf are you talking about man, this isn't the journal science, and I'm a TC which implies a certain level of trust when referring to cultivation.
I'll tell people what I want regarding their cultures, spawn, tubs, and any other thing I find reasonable to comment on.

Did you ask for supporting evidence for this claim? Links? Maybe he shouldn't be casting aspersions at people's cultures.
He's correct though, Bacillus grows alomg the mycelial plane, meshed into cultures.

If you want to learn; grow it out, observe, report. Or use a microscope. Get that salty sweet firsthand knowledge...
I'm very willing to throw away a stack of plates and take an extra transfer these days.

Ill try and scope it out today
I have a plate with sectored myc, that's just been sitting for over a month. Almost fully colonized, not pinning, white.
I'd guess it's bacteria instead of mold?
I'll post pics later
