thanks, rocky.
I don't even know if I can legally put one on the porperty...either landlord or HOA or county may quash it. Sigh...more research. Also, gotta be able to take it with me if I get booted. I am, after living in the tropics 6 years, still a city boy. Just ddg to shed name?
I grow in a metal shed and have a good time. It's all the same if you can run sufficient power to it for heating, cooling, light and FAE (FAE isn't so much a problem in a house, but a somewhat tightly sealed shed it becomes problematic IME). I survived the 15F winters and 120F summers with just a space heater and an AC in a 16x10 room.

So I got over 300g wet on the Golden Teacher shoebox but I'm wondering if maybe I've been harvesting too soon. It's sort of difficult to decide since they're all growing at different paces. My general go to rule of thumb is if they're in the same pinset I just take the whole thing.
Also, I have a lot more pins leftover in this shoebox than that B+. Should I leave them like they are in the picture and dunk, or harvest them now and then dunk?

Looks like you’re harvesting at the right time. About the only change would be the caps opening up.
A lot of the pins on the shoebox look like aborts.

Alright, cool.
I had a few that looked similar in my B+ shoebox and they fruited to average size mushies after about 3 days, but only maybe 1/3rd of them. On the other hand, I don't really need to do it for just a few, I just thought I'd ask opinions on these since there are more in this box.
I'm really kinda bummed that the Burma hasn't produced for me. I had a cake give me maybe 5 super fat aborted pins and the shoebox seems completely stalled with zero pins. (21 days in on the shoebox.)
I'm thinking it's got some bacteria problem or other contamination that sneaked in with the cakes. Multi Spore Syringe problems, ugh.
Anyways, thanks for the look over. I'll go ahead and clean it up and dunk. I've got another shoebox waiting for me to get to.

Yeah, it's possible they'll kick in. I'm not giving up on it yet. Hopefully I can get at least one fruit to clone.

That'd be a gas if most all my contamination issues are from plastic lids lol I dnt see that being the cause, though i was wrong that one time 32 years ago hehe

You can use parafilm around your plastic jar lids if you are worried that is a source of contamination. Honestly, if you aren't shaking or handling them at all and just let them do their thing, the plastic lid shouldn't be an issue though.

I know people wil disagree but I believe plastic lids were a direct cause of my contamination previously. I'd pull them out of the PC, leave them on the shelf as blanks and about half would contaminate within the month.

White plastic lids always caused me problems, now that I don't use them, no problem. Ball no leak are the shit though.

With 2 piece lids, do you think the band is tight enough not to let things under it? Do you wipe the glass threads with alcohol towel before popping the top off when doing innoculations? I just think if it catches dust in the lowest thread, when your unscrewing the band, won't each rotation be spreading stuff until your completely unthreaded?

Ora - Meh, that may be thnking to hard.
Mushboy/P9hu7 - It wudnt surprise me now that yall are coming forward and speaking out about the sexual trauma. God damn one piece motherfuckers. I thought i had some ball mixed in but i guess not. Ahh well...should take them off my list of myco supplies im offing. Crazy though cuz you'd thnk that wud spoil people's food, make them sick, and it'd been an obvious issue long ago.

Huh, so you wouldn't bother wiping the lid after taking off the band and the glass threads?

I keep my unmodified plastic lids covered with foil the whole time(excepting inoculation). White or grey lids seem to work fine this way. Then again I also keep the jars in a mostly clean and still place throughout colonization too

How many times y'all reuse a scalpel blade? like... it doesn't really need to be remotely sharp for agar. I was using a new sterile blade every time I did work, but the last three times I just flamed the same blade.

I just flame it and use it for a long ass time bc like you said it doesn't really matter.
I change em every know and again, sometimes they break
But I don't want to be buying them all the time.
