That's funny. My lid was dripping the other day. Slathered some coconut oil on it like 'ol Beano and seals right up.

Any help? All I got in response was drunk Chinese food talk the first time I posted this.

Right now my thumb is busted open, and bandaided, cause I slipped trying to pop my AA75X open with a bamboo spatula handle Idk if it's little warped after running too long the other day or if I just didn't grease it up enough, but I'm worried it's the former. Eitherway I gashed myself, but at least the unit works fine otherwise.
Might have to chalk it up as a learning experience, deduct the unit as loss, and just make it work till it's wrecked. If it gets stuck again I'll at least wear gloves during the opening process.
When you're opening it press down on one side rather that trying to pry up, at least that has always worked for me. Are you using some Vaseline? I always put a bunch on and it rarely sticks at all.

You know it. Harvesting and slow growth have been my biggest issues. If it wasn't for the strength I wouldn't grow them at all.

Ooh are AA's metal on metal? Never used one.. The nyogel is pretty good for rubber, have an ancient peerless PC still using its original seal thanks to nyogel

I'll try pushing down next time. I did use Vaseline but maybe not well enough. I accidentally ran it like 12+ hr in one session and without a proper greasing. Since then my last 2 runs got stuck although time before last I didn't even get the lid sealed properly and I popped a bunch of milo bags
Gotta slow down and air out my chi, clean up and straighen out my feng shui. Had a bunch of jars go bad and I guess I was sloppy. Tightened up my FFU filter so that oughta help in general.

In this situation, coconut oil, baby oil, and vaseline are all the same thing. They all have similar Hansen solubility parameters. (I find it remarkable that baby oil and coconut oil are largely interchangeable.) If one will swell rubber (natural rubber and similar compounds), the others will as well. And it looks like the Nyogel 760G someone recommended might also degrade rubbers, but I'm not sure. But silicone is not degraded that way! Silicone would primarily be swelled by silicone oils. What I will do, and what I'd suggest you do:
- Make sure I know where to buy a replacement gasket, and that it's not that expensive.
- Hope the gasket is silicone (thus not harmed by oils).
- Try using baby oil, vaseline, or food grade non-silicone grease (best), because they will not become sticky with heat.
- Olive oil is a second choice, because it's harder to become sticky--just don't use any oil that is "drying" or "semi-drying".

Idk, but I tried olive oil to fix/limp along my old PC's gasket (can't find a replacement for it), but olive oil made the issue worse for me. Had some various lubricants including nyogel laying around, gave it a shot and it worked great. Plenty of manufacturers use it to lubricate rubber parts, especially o-rings. Your mileage may vary...

12 hours is a long time, did it run out of water tho? I'm amazed how little water they use once the stopcock is closed. That being said one time I set the aa up to do a run and was waiting for it to steam. I ignored my alarm that told me to check on it and then totally forgot about it for fuck knows how long... It had zero water left inside by the time I got it open but amazingly no damage was done.
At the moment I'm using bag balm on my aa sealing surfaces it's vasoline and lanolin

Lanolin! That's thinking outside the box. Other ideas that probably won't damage any kind of rubber: beeswax, stearic acid, maybe even candle wax.

I got some good news and bad news. I got an AA PC and after running it I've realized that I wasn't PCing at the correct pressure with my tfal PC with no gauge...so now I'm confident my bags won't bacterial contam and will have 99% success rate like my jars.
The bad news. First time I ever burnt a bag, but I burnt all six in this PC run, my worst PC run yet..... First run in the AA and burnt lol
I didn't realize the gauge doesn't goto 15 it goes up to like 13 and stops so I'm sitting there thinking holy shit these PC's are heavy duty it takes more flame to keep it hot? so after a while I'm like whats going on dam so I put the heat on medium high for like 25 mins and started smelling I turned it down and realized it will not reach 15 on the gauge and also I can just have it on lowish and it will keep pressure. I continued cooking for another hour, it stopped smelling. With my shitty PC's if the pressure got to high it would go NUTZ and then release a ton of steam...this AA just chillaxes
I have gone through 100+ bags so far only like 3 made it lol, but now that I have this PC I'm condifent my bags will turn out fine...just sad I fucked this PC run up bad in a completely different way lol I also hadn't slept for 2 days during this PC run but idk if that would make a difference, the gauge wasn't going to 15, I thought it would be able to reach like a bit over 15 if I put it on medium high but no it won't touch 15.
Now that I have identified the issue(Pressure to low on no gauge pc) I'm sure my bags will be good now but god fucking dammit another failed PC run due to a new reason cock sucker. Its just the way she goes and its the price I have to pay.
Just so strange how my first time ever growing more than one tiny sub I did 25 huge grain spawn bags my first time all 25 bags colonized and went on to produce insane yeilds..and that was using the same PC with no gauge.. weird. 100% success down to to like 1% success.. anyways. I will do a new aa pc run but won't burn it this time and LETS FUCKING COLONIZE THIS BITCH. btw my brand new AA and hands still smell like burnt asshole.

My AA goes at least to 25 PSI before it starts venting like a demon from the petcock. Maybe your gauge is bolloxed.
A little vaseline on the aluminum mating surfaces keeps everything satisfied...
