I'm sure you, and some of the other older, experiences established heads could do it in a heart beat and a small online order. Pretty sure its just and additional hormone in the agar and you wash the tissue sample with h202 or maybe even bleach. I'm going to get around to it eventually for sure

I know it is like a pro-level plant to grow so that will be a fun challenge.
I had a grandfather that was into them. From what i can remember they don't really grow from soil like most plants. In nature they grow off of trees and things, pulling water from humid air. I'm not really sure how they get the nutes most plants get from soil, his were always in some woody "easter grass" looking stuff hanging on his porch in florida.
I could be a bit off to. It's been a few years and i only asked a few basics so he could talk about it. I never got into it.

With orchids you need to culture or at least work with mycorrhizal fungi, orchids and mycology go hand in hand.
"Orchids and mycorrhizal fungi have a complex symbiotic association where each of the orchid’s life stages are dependent at some level on specific fungi. In the earliest stages, orchids rely entirely on their mycorrhizal fungi for all nutrients, including carbon."
https://serc.si.edu/research/research-topics/biodiversity-conservation/orchids-fungi-symbioses
Funny that you guys bring this up because I've been considering sharpening and expanding my skills by working with orchids.
Mycology is cool af.

Yeah I've been looking into plant tissue culture recently, haven't pulled the trigger on the main growth medium (Murashige and Skoog) mostly because it's pretty expensive but with a hood and PC and some PP containers you can pretty much get started. Only thing is that growth protocols differ a lot between different plants along with nutritional and hormonal requirements so I've been dragging my feet picking specific plants to research and prepare for. It's pretty incredible how most edible fungi are so easy to culture in comparison.
I've heard sterilization of explants can also be rather tricky, usually involves ~10 minute rinse in water and soaks in H202 and then bleach but even then I've heard it can be difficult with outdoor specimens to get a clean sample.

I used to have a handful of orchids in my vivariums. Some really neat varieties out there.

I started the journey about a month ago... its been a huge up-hill battle for me with nothing to show for it so far... M+S is a great place to start but getting all the right amount of nutes for cannabis has been almost impossible for me to find... im taking a break from flowhood work for a little while, but once I get back to it, thats gonna be my number one priority...

Yeah I’ve heard you can clone autos with plant culture techniques but idk if it’s true.
If it is that would be awesome.

Would it be practical? Seems like you could just keep running more seeds.

If you had a really awesome auto it could be worth it.
I see a lot of people complaining about how they grew this amazing bud and then couldn’t clone it lol.

Gotcha, I have a few auto seeds, but at least for now I've cleaned out my tents and stuck my Killer Queen mother outside. She's happy, but IDK if she's transitioning already or still cloneable to share. Eitherway I don't think I'll be flowering myself, but I've learned a lot from the grow at least.
I prioritized myc over buds. My flowers had gnats and my tubs had trich. Cleaned up and now my tubs are as good as the spawn.
Right now I'm hoping this Melmac I expanded is as good as the parent. Realized if it's blobby or something I might have a fuck ton of lame spawn.

Nice to have clean goodies, eh? It's basically jst work but i feel much better when i completely rid my lab of contaminated shit. At this point im so fed up with contamination in general that i immediately toss out anything found to be contaminated. As a result i have a very roomy lab lol. I will let a fucked tub finish its flush though.

I mop with lavender scented fabuloso type cleaner. So fresh n so clean.
Since people questioned my conservative use of materials I just nocced 33 Melmac masters using 1/3 plate each. My intent is to noc like 4 or 5 bags each. Gotta go sterilize another 50 jars and noc a few TAT, TWC, and Nat masters.
I used my new AIE-305HIM and I expect my bag work is gonna be pretty good moving forward. Love the magnet!
Got super anal about agar and I think it's gonna be really smooth sailing going forward. Still have to master LC though.

You got 165 tubs ready to go?
I love my AIE-405HIM sealer. I double seal for peace of mind, I find when gusset sealing the seal isn't always reliable.
You find that out when you go to shake the bag 6 days later...

I have 50-60 tubs and space for more. If I stagger my G2G work it won't be a problem. Axenic spawn can wait a couple weeks at any given stage, that's without refrigeration.
One flush wonders then straight to spent sub land. Gonna build a nice box/patch under some walnut trees where it's always damp and shady.
I know the pain of popping shitty seals, and so I too double seal.

I gotta start buying pallets worth. My raised beds don't sprout many mush, but the plants are always happy. Since my spawn quality is improving and I've got the grasp of my coir prep I expect some spent sub fruits in the future, but I have to tossbit somewhere with the right conditions.
