Yeah that's one of the questions I'll be asking, if it will detect extracellular ATP from fungi, it seems reasonable that it would. This seems to be the best method for rapidly identifying bacteria, so perhaps there's a work around.

I grind pretty damn fine when I make my own pucks. It has worked out swell.

That would certainly inspire me to try again. I'm still noobing around enough without retrying the LC, I have discovered. And not until there's a FH here.

Yes. I always grind my own cause it's cheaper. Trick is to find the right amount for your blender. Enough to stop it from just being thrown around, but not so much that half of it doesn't find the blades. Mine takes roughly 1.5 cups at a time.

Good tip lieutenant. If you find yourself making BRF frequently and in quantity, a grain mill is great and can be had for around 100-$250 depending on how nice of one you want. They are used for beer making and lots of stuff and you can adjust the cut size. I'm about to pick one up myself and get back on the PF style wagon.

I was struggling to get any germination from this syringe, so I yolo'd it with a unsterilized cotton bud, and swiped it on agar.
And to my complete amazement... Its so far clean! 🤯

It's kinda shocked me. Dirty sink, dirty cotton swab, then agar... Was expecting it to be crawling with crud 😂😂
Hate to tell ya this but theres plenty of white mold and that plate doesnt look super clean to me mate haha Itd be cool if it was thou

Do you guys keep your fruiting rooms at a consistant temperature 24/7?? Or turn everything off @ the 12 hour mark?? Having trouble getting my tubs to fruit and im wondering if it is because im keeping the heating elements on in the fruiting room on 24/7 to keep that consistant temp.

My room has a natural swing of about 10 degrees(F*) from night to day... I don't think that'll effect pinning tho... do you need the heating elements? You may be keeping it too warm... mushrooms can and will grow down in the 60s(F*)...

Guys, can I use sterilised jars with grain, which I forgot and left sitting closed in the PC for about a month. Then, once I needed the PC and opened and discovered them, I just moved them in the freezer (-18 C), and they just sit there, its been a 2-3 months since then. They are still sterile, I just don't know what will happen to them after melting..

The month sitting in the PC may have dried them out some... but like you said, they should still be sterile... warm em up and give it a shot... for Science!

why does everyone freak out about meticulous temp control lol. my room gets down to like 58 degrees in the winters sometimes & everything fruits fine, it goes a bit slower but i prefer it that way. i feel like the fruits grow better in lower temps personally
