Man this is the only website I know that looks the exact same nearly 20 years later. I love it. It would be shocking to see it differently.

Nope, they will sort themselves out on the shelf, that's totally normal. Inoculate and place on shelf. Don't keep them upside down like that though. They will turn out like this:

I usually shake the jars when I take them out, and then again the next day. That distributes the moisture pretty fast.

For long term storage of cracker dry fruit I've just started to vacuum seal with oxygen eaters. I'm really like it so far, but I'm wondering if I should also be keeping them in the freezer or fridge. What do y'all do for long term storage?

A desiccant bag inside a zip lock or large jar. These things store at room temp like any dried food.

I am too neurotic to inoculate grains same day I PC them. I would be surprised if other users didn't have success doing so but I let them cool down until the next and let the water get absorbed or escape.

Thanks, p9. Nah I just turned them over to show the level of moisture, such as millet clinging to the jar. They are right-side up. This is Space's first TEKs of p9 millet, josex poke LC pour of this toally fun-looking B+:

I posted it before, but I think it's germaine.
Will be potency with 4g this Sunday. Report to follow. I'm stoked because this is my first clone. I have quite a few more now. I'm cloning that which speaks to me and will then test each for potency, making slants of the best.

Yeah, i like them to reabsorb b4 inoculation as well.
I cant imagine the wheat i made yesterday not being sterile af.
Most of my melmak jars are turning out super clean, but 2 of 9 show one or two tiny metabolites. Gonna toss all my used melmak lcs and make a freshy.
It's so fucking easy to make lc, i luv it. Jst pull a plate outta cold storage, take a few transfers, inoculate a few lcs, plate back in the fridge...easy.

Yeah, the Fridge. I am gonna build a plywood box to put the fridge on. It's a decent not-so-mini fridge. I'm just sick of bending down alla time. If I had better shop skills I would add a storage drawer. Maybe now is a good time to learn: I'm trying to stelthify the house somewhat since now is ti totally covered in cult. The way I'm going here there'll be a full-size fridge there soon.

I just bought me 4.4 cubic foot mini fridge today. I thought it was about time. It is a pita constantly having to make transfers every 10 days in order to keep a culture going.

Yeah they come out clinging to the jar, I find bags to be a bit dryer.
If it was any other grain they would be too wet but as you work with it more you'll realize it's just fine. I always inoculate the day after cycle while their still moist, it has zero negative effect. Millet is awesome.

9.9 is a basic fridge of the older smaller sizing. Separate freezer compartment. Big enough for everything, small enough to use with my mini bar once I uprade to fit the fridge cubb.
