I just did this because I don't have much time these couple weeks to spend on mush cult. The agar looks weird, like the bacterial layer just 'sank' to the bottom. Would you say this is fine to use or it's incredibly stupid and I should just re-do the agar plates from scratch?
I know someone out there must've tried this out at least once lol
Yes, I have done this. Am cheap and lazy. I can't remember what happened, but I didn't do it again, which means it didn't go well.

But it would be a nice kind of 'I told you' cuz that would mean you had success with millet after the oats.

Gonna start by putting some shitty grain to soak for some days to make it even shittier. Will also do a standard prep and a hard prep. All will be noc'd up with tested LC.
Control jars included. Will also inoculate jars from the three preps with 20ml of nutrient broth.
Let's get the party started.

The first time you have a full size canopy to harvest is amazing.
What’s even more amazing is how quickly the novelty wears off and you start hacking the shrooms off just to get it done

Just put some barley to soak to be used in 3-4 days when is nice and stinky, as part of the tests I'm going to run.
Will make a thread the day I noc the jars from the 3 preps.

Just read your thread. Let me say that you're going to deeply regret boiling those fermented grains, they are going to stink up the house big time. That's why I'm only going to strain them and jar up wet when they stop dripping.

Put the tub on it’s side and kinda shimmy it until you can reach behind and slide it out.
I think there’s some old threads about it.

You can flood the bin with water cause subs float.
You can also go back to a liner. Easy to pull out for harvest and easier cleanup. I do the liner thing cause i'm lazy to. All about stream lining at this point for me.

Liners allow for easy sub removal for harvest and make cleaning tubs quick and easy for the next liner as the plastic sticks to the wet tub. Liners more importantly provide ideal surface conditions in a dialed in tub which promotes a better pinset while simultaneously reducing unwanted evaporation, both increasing potential yield. Bigger better flushes, but you gotta dial in your sub prep, and axenic spawn is crucial. Dry is better than wet, but we want goldilocks here.
