Do these look healthy enough to finally run a monotub? 5-qt spawn to 10-qt coir? Or should I quarantine to shoeboxes?

I think I'm seeing some bacteria, but my myco-eyes are too new.
I'm pretty happy with the other projects. First spawned oats to shoeboxes starting on 6//7 and I have havested over 14-pounds wet so far.

Pay attention to how they break up when you go to spawn them. Unless you have been letting spawn sit around and it has time to block up more, clean spawn will just come apart nice and easy with a couple whacks on a tire or roll of duct tape. Look for metabolites. Again if it's had time to block up it's not uncommon to see some liquid at the bottom but if it's freshly colonized and you see yellow drops it can be a sign it's in distress.
Give them a sniff too. Though unless overrun with bacteria it's pretty hard to detect this way, at least for me. Maybe other people have better noses.
The real obvious signs are too white, creamy, blocky, or cottage cheesy. Myc pressed up real hard against the glass is another.
Great thanks. The more information I get on the reasoning for a diagnosis, the more I have in my arsenal when developing my own eyes.
They've blocked up pretty much.
[Maybe other people have better noses.] Everybody has a better nose than I. [The real obvious signs are too white, creamy, blocky, or cottage cheesy.] I don't see this, though that may just mean I can't see this yet with my eye-skill level. [Myc pressed up real hard against the glass is another.] This, I think, is the case with the 5 jars.
Still, all my other jars since starting with grains, about 4-months ago, have been more obviously bacterial and have/are prodiucing well in shoeboxes. I shoulda ordered an entire flat of 7-qt sterilites, instead of 28!
Thanks again.

I have an older 25x and sometimes it works perfect between 17-20, other times I have to babysit the fucker for the whole damn run to be sure it's not going out of control.
I'm not sure if the 25x thermostats work the same as a 75x but if they do you can recalibrate it to work properly again. Skip to 6:45.

Thanks for sharing that but I think I'm experiencing something different. I don't have a problem nudging the knob a little bit to get it to turn off but the unit itself can be very inconsistent with where it turns off. Sometimes it will turn off at 20 and then the very next time the unit kicks on it will go to 25 or higher before turning off. It gets less consistent if I fill it with the proper amount of water... I run it so the thermostat is halfway exposed to steam which seems to help it be more reactive.
I think it needs a new thermostat but the red hill general store has been out of stock for more than a year it seems. Anywhere else is close to $200 for that single part

Yeah that's what this is supposed to fix. Years of use can loosen things up so that your thermostat turns off at the wrong temp. Give it a go before you try to buy a new one.

Brand-spanking-new to this site, and to cultivation. I will be starting out with the uncle bens tek. I know I know.. super noob.
My question(s)... I have some 'end of the bag' scraps/powder/debris leftovers. Can I make a successful culture or spore syringe with this? Or would I just end up wasting money on trying?
I'm trying to decide if its worth attempting or should I just get a pre-made syringe online?
I appreciate the help guys.

If its your first time you're better off starting with brown rice flower and pf tek, you will certainly fail with uncle bens.

You can't do anything with bag shroom powder, don't even bother trying, buy spores from a vendor

Order a spore syringe from one of the vendors here.
While you wait for it gather some half pint jars, brown rice flour and vermiculate. Do a little bit of reading on the pf Tek.

Don't waste your time money or spores on a half baked uncle Ben idea

Those guys are right, you don't even have To go buy a pressure cooker. An instant pot any of the knock offs work great.
Pftek is also cheaper than uncle ben's.

Bought a fridge. Got some exotics put on agar as well as more gourmets. Throwing out anything thats not 100% right and cleaning up with my new mop bucket. Gotta spawn a few dozen tubs, then I can make some edibles

I would recommend going spore print or syringe -> agar -> grain -> shoebox or mini monos
This will require a pressure cooker, however why half ass it when you could grow properly? If you enjoy it, you will have the tools and knowledge to expand into gourmet mushrooms as well.

Guys have you ever prepared no-pour plates (say, Pastyplates), waited too long before sterilizing them, saw they had developed a bacterial coating layer/colonies overnight, and sterilized them anyway?
I just did this because I don't have much time these couple weeks to spend on mush cult. The agar looks weird, like the bacterial layer just 'sank' to the bottom. Would you say this is fine to use or it's incredibly stupid and I should just re-do the agar plates from scratch?
I know someone out there must've tried this out at least once lol

There would have been invisible bacteria present anyways, vegetative bacteria will die very quickly in the pc, it shouldn't pose any problems.

Imo, agar is easy to whip up and doesn't take long to sterilize. So I would make new plates.

I have no clue what the "right" answer is.
I would be sketch about using plates with some visible shit already in it though. I would absolutely think it's new later down the line.
