If it's the same brand the only difference between regula and wide mouth is the diameter of the mouth itself.

With that being said ziplock twist top quarts seem wider so I can only fit 8 per PC as with glass jars it's ten

Oh you fuckers even have several brands to choose from, hate ya  believe it or not there are no suitable jars for this hobby where I live, they're all jam type jars, ridiculous...

Anyway I meant the ball brand, I think the manufacturer refers to those jars in the specs.

1 upside down in the center
5 surrounding it
1 standing up on top of another and 3 kn their sides on top of the lot

Well fml, I've no way of fitting so many jars in there, even without the second rack, tried to fit them snugly once and did 3 jars less than the specs, also some jars came out of the pc with some dents on the rings, gotta do even less jars than that.

I'm still confused as too why you would put one upside down.

I fit 7 right side up 3 laying across the top. Also am using a 23 qt presto

Maybe I just interpreted what you said wrong.

anyone have experience with whatman filters and SHIP with LC?
I'm wondering if I can shake the LC vertically, or if I should avoid contact with the lid and Whatman filter.

You mean a 941 pc turned into a sterilizer? How many quart jars can you fit? The max I've done was 16 jars all cramped up, which is 3 jars less than the 19 it's supposed to be able to hold

no, just bought a sterilizer, it's the same thing really, just with a petcock instead of a jiggler.

I don't use the insert, which takes up space.  I can fit 19 quart jars no problem.  It's a non electric sterilizer, they are cheaper, and in my opinion more versatile than the electric ones.

That moment where you realize after 4 months of doing jars that you can fit 10 in a Presto not 7...Priceless... I am dumb.

Naw man not dumb.

The instructions say 7 on the bottom because they cannot recommend placing jars on there sides for processing. Also usually when you can things the jars have some amount of liquid in them (enough to spill out) but with grains the only way it will spill while it's on its side is if the lid comes off.

We tend to bend some rules in this hobby like using plastic mason jar storage lids for processing (just tried them yesterday)

Its funny but good cuz production levels now go up with the same gear! Those lids rock. I use them. They can pop off if you pull the jars too hot from the PC so watch that.
