I like Celltreat 100x15mm's. Grip ring is nicer and sturdier than the slippable but I went through a bunch of the slippable without much of an issue ever.
They really did get pricier though damn, I've only ever paid like $80-90 for a case.
I had the same issue with lumps forming by the end of the pour and I just poured hotter and would leave it in the SAB for like 2 days and it'd clear up. Annoying if you have other work to do in the box but you end up with clear plates. 24 hours would probably be alright too.

Leave one jar on the shelf after pc, if it molds after 2-3 days your pc cycle is still erratic

I did that with my run on wild bird seed. I had 6 half pints and thought I injected them all but missed one. That jar stayed perfectly clean with no signs of growth after two weeks but all the other jars ended up going green just as they were looking fully colonised. This is what makes me think I have bad LC.
Hopefully agar to grain from a spore syringe will get better results.it’s always such a bummer to see it turn after watching them so intently. Still no way I’m giving up. 🤞

If I had large amounts of mush material I wanted to dispose of then I would extract the actives and freeze the "tea" concentrate. Way too valuable to throw away because it's old and in the way.
I saw a wonderful DEA diagram for an oil bath vape rig for base cocaine online. Would be epic for DMT.

How would one go about extracting the actives while also having the most concentrated amount of liquid possible?
I have tons I need to boil down & save or else it'll get tossed soon.
Some folks in my region are making individual mg gummies.
I have no clue how they're actually measuring and dosing the gummies with such a precise amount, I feel like its guess work. I can't see how one would be able to do that without incredibly precise instruments.
Maybe i'm over thinking it but I feel like that's something only scientists have started to explore for future treatment and therapeutic uses.

I get lumps. And I get condensation. Some never clear up. And the longer they sit there, the bigger the vector for me, in my very limited experience.
I look at Celltreat with a lump in my throat but not in my pocket. I think they were over $300 for the case. Gotta order something tomorrow, no matter what. Ah well.

If your SAB is closed up there shouldn't really be much chance of plates contaminating. I feel like it's surprisingly uncommon for contams to pass under the lid and over the wall of the plate even when unwrapped-- unless you leave them somewhere super breezy. Regardless I've never really noticed an increase in contams leaving them undisturbed in an SAB for a bit.
And lumps suck but condensation isn't too big of a deal imo. I'd just pour a bit hotter to avoid lumps and leave them unwrapped in closed SAB for as long as you feel comfortable. I feel like keeping them somewhere warmer usually deals with condensation decently too. Or if you like you could store them upside down then dump out the pooled water on the lid as you open the plate in the SAB. I'd feel a little suspect doing that but you could test a few plates and see if they contam.
Either way hard to get absolutely no lumps and no condensation in an SAB without leaving them to evap a little bit IMO/E.
$300 is ridiculous though sheesh you must not be in the U.S.? They're $115 for me on Amazon.

Anyone ever add nutritional yeast to the water you boil your grain in?
Was thnking that since myc luvs that shit so much, maybe it wud like it soaked into wheat. But i dnt thnk yeast liquifies very well. Also im not sure if boiling wud activate nutritional yeast, or if something odd wud grow on it during drying or some amount of alcohol wud be created. Suppose I cud sprinkle some in the jars b4 PC.

it wouldn't hurt anything. it's dead yeast and active yeast wouldn't hurt either. any alcohol produced would be negligible given the time frames/availability of O2 and the PC would kill any living yeast anyway. I've used active dry yeast in agar.

do you guys think that potency across cubensis strains might be primarily a function of growth time ie strains that take longer to consolidate, fruit, and mature (or maybe only consolidate) (like PE and enigma) are the more potent?

I read that some shrooms that are particularly beautiful sometimes mature more slowly… someone can correct me

AtmozFear - I wud thnk psilocin would exacerbate visual/auditory hallucinations. Same with thc.
Multifractal - ok, i'll give it a shot on my nxt run. Sticking with wheat from here on out and proud of it, but there's a couple "additives" imma try. Yeah the evidence seems to show that time is related to potency in some way, possibly direct.

I don’t think there’s any scientific evidence but it’s pretty widely accepted that the longer a culture takes to mature the more potent it is.
Primal has a thread about experimenting with keeping colonized tubs from fruiting for a month or more to try and increase potency. Letting cakes and stone jars sit forever is common too.

I've also heard the speculation, if a strain produces less spores it has more energy for producing active alks
