you could make a quick an easy LI and inoculate 10 jars off that plate with a lot faster colonization times if ya wanted

I'd take another transfer. I'd also inoculate some jars with the remaining myc

Yea I will go to another plate too, I have 4 other plates that look similar too, I figured I'd just take 9 wedges to jars, use other plates to make more transfers and just keep it moving

Verum - Stir plate. How do you handle that anyway? Turn it on like 10 min b4 drawing a syringe, or does it grow with a spinning magnet?
Sockadin - That wud be a bummer supreme cuz these things are mostly shell. I was under the impression that the shells where a significant enough part of the food source. Hmm...
Thank you for responding, guyz.

I just came across black sfs today. They wanted $45 for 30 lbs. I think I will stick with the RGS for now.

I've done a blenderless LI before, I probably will do it with another batch but I feel like it's one more vector, I'm also not in any real rush.
Once I am successful with this batch of jars I'll start fucking around more. Honestly 9 quarts of spawn... No matter what... I will end up with too much stuff because I'll take one or two of these and g2g them. Also I have 5 more plates going too lol.

I wish I could get wheat consistently. I would have to travel over an hour for it though. On top of that, it isn't available all year around.
I am currently changing my process. I want to grow straight out of bags. I am going to be supplementing them with rice bran and only using the RGS to inoculate them. RGS has one of the, if not the most, inoculation points per gram of seed than any other that we use in this hobby. So a little bit goes a long way.

God fucking damnit I'm having a rough time with this shit😡😡 All my life I've been cooling down the scalpel after flaming red hot and now these days I'm getting this bacteria on the same slit on the agar (the pattern of the cut of the blade). Now it makes me thing all my entire life Ive been carrying with this shit and realized it these days right when started I changing to more clear recipes What should I do to fix this? I'm pcing the agar 30 mins at 20psi and making really sure the blade is red hot before inoculating or transferring. Literally half of my agar sessions I'm with the arm up sterilizing the blade waiting for the blade at least five secs being red so this shit is getting me frustrated a lot 😡

Are you flaming it down to the handle? That fixed a lot for me, I used to only flame to where it slides On the handle.

Thanks for helping guys Yes I start each session flaming the handle and then focusing just on the blade.. I mean I just do the handle the first transfer. Do you do it in between all transfers Aka? @TedsDead: no Ted I've never cleaned it on alcohol in between uses.. although I saw it once on a bods video that he did have a glass of alcohol on hand to do it .. I didn't know it was necessary. I'll definitely start to use it and see if it improves, thanks for that tip
Last night I checked all my plates and interestingly what I've shown is present in almost every plate of the LAST batch, so I think it could be the this last particular sets of Petris maybe that perhaps came badly sterilized??? idk really, some of the plates of the previous batches (not this last one) also have this bacterial pattern on the way of the scalpel, and some others don't Is there any possibility it could be the the type of gas? I use a mix of butane and propane for the torch (I know it's silly but I just wanna make sure haha)
Maybe I'll also stop cooling down the blade on the agar. I learnt it from a video of RR and since then I did it always .. do anyone bothers cooling down the blade? I'm afraid to kill the donor myc if I directly cut the agar without cooling it before. Any experiences?
I really dont know where to aim, where's the issue

Not the handle but the part of the blade where it locks on. I usually iso the handle when I start and then just flame the entire blade piece between plates.
When I started out I was only flaming the solid part of the blade and had problems that went away once I started doing the entire part where it connects.

Ohh gotcha aka I'll stop bothering with the handle then
Also, is it necessary to cool down the blade on the agar prior to transfer? Maybe I'm adding vectors of contamination.. I just do it cause I'm afraid to kill the donor mycelium if I cut it right away

When it comes to the upper part of the scalpel handle, do you get that red hot as well, or just kiss it with the flame?
