I dnt listen to that trash.
So about this LC hubbub. I must be missing something.
There are large sharp ass shards of Mason jar in the bottom to cut the fuck out of all of the mycelium to make a bunch of little strands. I swirl them vigorously every day. When I draw a syringe full of this apparently mycelium laden liquid and then view it in the light, I see a gnat's lugie of mycelium and the rest is just liquid. So i splooge 5ml in each jar and a week later notice that only 3 or 4 out of 10 have any growth, usually one will have the growth i expect. There is no contamination and there is no way im not swirling effectively.
So wats the secret to getting the mycelium all broken up into pieces that i can suck up with an 18ga needle, instead of fighting to get a weak snot-rocket's worth of baby batter and a bunch of useless liquid?
Also, why is shit not growing on my sfs? This is the only one and it's weak:
The water i boiled them in looked like fucking coffee afterwards. Do i gotta empty all these back into the colander and rinse them till there isnt any more water in the PNW?

I would wrap it with a ply of paper towel then stick it in a plastic bag and put it in the refrigerator. It should be okay for a few days.

I successfully cloned an oyster purchased from a store, I'm certain it had been picked more than 48 hours prior.

I can't comment much on the sunflower prep but can tell you that malt extract LC with an agar wedge and a stir plate works wonderfully.

I know that feeling. Back at the end of January I had some crazy medical issues where I could barely hobble around and lost 95% of the feeling in both legs from the knees down. Ended up being spine inflammation due to some obscure condition but it messed me up real good. Was really thankful I had my roommate to help me out a bit. Still did things I could but without a helper I woulda been screwed. Hopefully you get to feeling better sooner then later Mr D!

Usually a direct pour into your jars from your LC will help speed up the colonization times over a squirt and see approach.
As to why the SFS is the slow one I can only guess that it takes longer to get to the seed of the sunflower. The more burst grains the better in that case. I usually boil alot longer that I do oats. I am guessing that the shell is all non nutrious fiber and the nutrition is inside so if there is more of the seed exposed it tends to jump off quicker.

Any tips on sealing 3T bags? I have a 12inch AIE 305 sealer, I set it to 5.5 and then seal it for 5 seconds then remove.
It's not wide enough to seal the bag in a single layer so on the ends where there's multiple layers of plastic it seems like the seal is a bit weak and opens easily if I mess with it.

I run mine max and max otherwise I get the same issue. FYI the first setting is the seal and the seconds setting is the cool down time.
Edit: I just realized there is a AIE-305 that isnt magnetic maybe you are using that one.

Fractured my ankle in April, been out of work since. Was able to dive deep into mycology in the mean time. Been a tough few months but learning through the forms and practicing agar has helped a ton. Good luck on your recovery!

LC/LI to grain masters, masters g2g to bags.
Okay. Thank you for replying. So "grain 2 bag" is reliable? Hmm I will try it again, contaminated alot last time I tried

I free pour LC in open tops of bags with these jars

Should be done in a flowhood, you must be careful about breaking the envelope of clean air with your master bottle over the bag and I recommend to elevate the bags off the work table a little.

Got a wild pan cyan print from a member of another forum. I think they got collected in Florida. Really excited to get the opportunity to be the first one to grow them indoors.

Could someone please tell me if my shoebox looks ready for fruiting? It’s golden teacher and seems to have a slightly grey or very slight green hue. It colonised within 6 days and I’m worried I’ve just got a box of mold or I’m just being paranoid. 🤢
