I just want to give an update on my steamer pot bag runs over the past 2 weeks. I have been cooking 100% sawdust blocks. I can cook 24 bags at a time. The first time I ran it, I ran it for 12 hours at 212*F with just water. During that run I used around 35-40% of the water.

I learned that I use a lot less when the pot is filled with bags. With the pot full of bags I use only 1-2 gallons of water total during a 12 hour cook which is only 10-20% of the starting water. I also use a couple peices of brick to weigh down the lid a little bit. This also helps cut down on the water used but also helps cut down on the propane used as the steam is better trapped in the chamber, effectively allowing the heat/steam to stay in the chamber. Therefor the burner does not need to be turned up as much.

So far I have not seen any signs of contamination. So this up coming weekend I would like to give it a try with supplemented sawdust bags and see how those turn out.

I have a 500mL jar of cooked agar in the fridge, what do ppl typically do to liquify it again?  Boil water and set the jar in with it until it can be poured again?

Usually microwave. Pot o boiling water will take forever. I usually just PC again for 5-10 minutes cause my bottles don't fit in the microwave.

For the microwave you should set it to lower power and microwave in bursts instead of nuking it for 5 minutes straight.

Supped will be the test.  I just use hot tap water for unsupped bags and dont give em any sort of heat treatment

Found this in my tub...

I've beem struggling with a lemon AC unit and I'm having difficulty with my evaporation rates. Don't need spiders to make it worse. Technicians said they'd call sometime this week. It's been on the fritz for a month:mad2:

Yep, so long you're not adding bran or anything, hwfp can be bucket tek'd or lipa tek'd

You guys aware Starlink is delivering 300Mb/s at sub 20ms? And getting faster with each weekly launch.  A friend has it. Installation easier than most teks here. They took it into the forest and into the desert (violates TOS but no flags). Under a minute to boot up and lock in, automatically. $499 for the equipment then $99 a month.

I have tried the lipa tek and had mixed results. I would say it was poor inoculation technique but the only thing I have changed is now I am steam sterilizing my bags and now have zero contamination.

Yes. I am quite familiar with pellet mill's as I spent a decade running them in a feed mill. They shoot steam into the conditioner which heats the product up to 190*F just before being pressed through the die. Then they are ran through a cooler which takes about 10 minutes to cool before being dumped into a storage bin. I would imagine that all pellet mill's work in a similar fashion

While the fuel pellets are heat treated, it is not for any extended period of time. I doubt they take very good care to store them or transport them in any clean way because they aren't a food product.

I wish I could get away with using that type of prep but I haven't had much luck. Believe me, lipa tek would save me a tremendous amount of time.

Guys I've done it!  I've grown a contaminant in every plate and had zero germination of spores

Lol, I just poured and inoculated 10 more plates, I made a control that I didn't inoculate and if these all contam, I must've fucked up during the pressure cooking process, only pc'd for 20 mins so maybe that is the issue.  Here's to learning though

I'm gonna let it ride. Meanwhile I'm gonna go clean the fuck out of the lab and the yard around it.

Tub feels heavy, hopefully a second flush will provide the yield I expected.

I know right, yet if I tear the fruits off they rip like the sub is dry and tough. The high temps were at close to 90° and the lows close to 72°. The AC in the room is fine, but the one downstairs is not, which is where my spawn and FFU are. It's pumping outside air without cooling. Hard to balace everything and the warranty is barely worth the cost right now but it'll be fixed soon maybe I hope

Basically the sub condensed too much, matted up a bit instead of pinning and I flipped the lid to alleviate the problem and just got lame results. Was worried about shit goin bad so instead I'll have to milk it.

You said the tub feels heavy, so it should have plenty of water. I would put a fan in the room facing away from the tub. Perhaps a little extra air circulation in the room will fix the problem.

That and remove the tents in the corner. Gotta ditch the herbs to outside when the technician comes anyway might as well just move em now and clean/cool the place

I'm having trouble digging up a good answer- my outdoor patch is putting out but it attracted a bunch of little slugs, I already salted it , read maybe D.E. could work. Saw RR posts of copper tubing but Im unable to purchase any for at least a week.
