Hey folks

So either A.k.a. or feasohfuckicantremeberallofit suggested fruiting the very funky GT and Malabar jars in the bottle. I didn’t realize Iwas fruiting in vitro, too:

So dafuq I do now? Some of the jars are all in vitro, some not. Input from experience, please.I have 14 shoeboxes, 6 qts atm of maybe passable oat spawn, 4 54-qt sterilites and now I’n noticing bins and tubs all over the fucking house.

Can’t upload. No idea why. Will try more tomorrow.

I've spawned to six shoeboxes for LAGM2021 and harvested one of them successfully. Left the other five over the weekend, with lid closed (but not latched down) and some water sprayed inside to get them through these days. There was considerable growth, but not enough to lift the lid. Most of those shoeboxes look not worth harvesting to me because the shrooms have weird deformations (see the blue fluffy ring at the bottom of shoebox A or the white dots at the top of shoebox B) and almost look like they've been infested by a different fungus (the white parts at the bottom look more like trich than fuzzy feet to me). Shoebox E looks like the only one worth spawning and shoebox F is my recently harvested one, with no deformities whatsoever.

Your sub that you cases those bottles with got to dry. It contracted away from the sides a good bit and made a nice microclimate on the sides of the jar. That's why it pinned there. When you case a jar I like to use slightly above field capacity coir and pack it in a little tighter than I would a shoebox or mono sub. I also recommend packing it all the way to the very top of the jar. Makes it a little easier.

As far as harvesting you could use a flexible knife like a fillet or boning knife it's kind of a bitch. T

Ya I had a few jars I didn't think looked good enough to spawn and was just being lazy so they started pinning invitro like that. I dug out the grains with a spoon until I got to the mushrooms and it was a pain in the ass. Way to much work for the 8th that I got outta there haha

Could I break the jars, as is, up into shoeboxes to see if I get more of a flush? It'd probably be easier to harvest the in vitro pins then. It's funny, at the start of my PF TEK side-project, I got 3.0 dry from the in vitro growth of the 4 GT jars.
That PF TEK is still going on a third flush for some of the varieties and I'v pulled 460 grams wet, about 78 grams dry, off those 10 BRF cakes.

I mean you absolutely could, looking at the myc in gonna guess bacterial so it could colonize and fruit or it could just turn to gross soup.

I personally would run it in a shoebox, it don't top fruit unless it's a widemouth pint or something similar that's cylindrical. Shoeboxes are great for fruiting iffy spawn.

Yes the luxuries of living in society.

We're completely off grid deep in the mountains so satellite is the only option out here.

Starlink did their beta out here and it was like 900 for the system, had to
be set up yourself, and 99 per month.

Once there’s global internet I’ll almost definitely be off grid ASAP. I was pretty sad when google shut down their balloon project.

Also just to put it out there, if somebody does manage to pry the lid off while it’s still hot it’ll probably blow boiling water all over you

I was being impatient one day with my instant pot venting down so I just pressed the lock down with my finger and turned the lid, instantly blew boiling stew everywhere.

Still and all it sounds like that far off the grid offfers wonderful benefits. Maybe slow internet is worth it.

It is. If they didnt throttle the speeds after 60 gigs I would have minimal ssues with the provider but alas...

I only use the internet to browse shroomery, our business, and for the wifi calling. No cell signal either.

It can suck though like I cant receive any multimedia messages at all. So good luck sending me pics haha.
And cloudy days it can be an absolute bitch getting a hold of me or using the webs
