I used yeast when i started but stopped using it when i accidentally made agar wine. Almost thru half a case. Prolly add a bit to the last of the case, see wat happens. Dnt see any harm in it.
Hey mushboy, is that an Ape culture?

I did use nutritional yeast. Didnt sterilize well and two wks later my plates smelled of wine.
Yeah, i generally dnt waste my time on anything that's not...standard, if you will. Yeast is fairly standard. I use coir, mea, wheat, good genetics, and clean water. Works perfectly. If i never used anything else it'd be fine. Though i am getting a hard on for millet again since im going LC and dnt necessarily have to do any open-lid transfers.

Ah... yup, Ive definitely had some tubs and grain end up fermenting from a good ole yeast infection. When I had first read of using yeast, peptone ect... it was not clear to me that it was nutritional yeast that I was suppose to use. I never really noticed any benefits from using those things tho

For me PDA has always been subpar to MEA for cubes.
I've tried it so many times with flakes and real potatoes and it's just slower and weaker growth. That's just my experience though.
You just gotta do yeast plain and simple it's good. Any yeast, can't go wrong even bread yeast can be used. It's not active after the pc cycle if sterilized properly.
The greatest thing to add to agar is activated charcoal. Fantastic color and the mycelium really likes it. And it's supposed to help stubborn spores germinate better according to some things I have read.

Found a stack of OSB at home depot without a price tag, so i asked an employee and it was marked at $18.50 per piece
Apparently it was priced in 2019 and in the warehouse and they put it out that morning. Bought the whole dang stack of 20 sheets.
Shit is over $80 a piece right now for fucking OSB
Can finally finish the walls of my fruiting room. So fucking happy I could cry

Plywood is so stupid right now. 1/4" OSB for $70, 3/4" top grade for $80...
I'm jealous I need some OSB but not paying that much

Wanna get more pissed? We have absolute GOBS of timber being harvested in Oregon right now. The logging companies got the green light to scrape the burns clean of all dead trees, but the fuckers are taking the live ones too. I snuck in and took a peek when I was out morel hunting. They're turning healthy forests into moonscapes.
So here we are with a sudden surplus of local timber, and the best 50% immediately goes overseas to be used in exposed wood construction in east asia. The rest gets sold out of state real quick.
None of us are going to see the benefits of this harvest.
There isn't a lack of supply, they are just ripping us off.
