space, most of those oat jars look bacterial to me. you can still spawn them but just know that if they are bacterial, youโll likely get trich around the end of first flush/beginning of second
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/27210398
hereโs a journal of mine w pics of all my bacterial oats, maybe it can give you some ideas as to what to look for?

FWIW, I did read on shroomery a direction to another person to trim the foil close to the edge of the cake. That's why I use the already-pretty-rusty jar lids; I wrap them in foil; I don't know if that does anything but make em look slick. Like the 100% chrome fucking Lamborghini I was up the road with t'other day. My partner and I thought, "Wow, that's keeping a low profile in a town wherein the sheriffs just live for traffic-stops." Me, I think it gives them Wood.

Thanks, I'll look at the showflat. If I can spawn them and maybe get some fruits out out of them before trich or some other nasty get any or all of the tubs, I will do that. Aside from the hobby of it and the psyche of it, the shrooms are the only known prophylactic for The Beast, as clusterheads call the hell of cluster headaches. I am blessed to be one.
One study still under way: https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT02981173
As long as they ain't bad to do.
I'll ask A.K.A. to take a look, since he, too, has been foolish enough to be helpful.

yeah, AKA can def give you a definitive answer but my money is on them being bacterial for sure. you almost definitely get at least one flush off it. i usually get somewhere close to an ounce per quart spawned so IMO itโs definitely still worth it to spawn if youโre not growing 30 monos or have other clean spawn waiting. you can also top fruit jars, which works super well too, but you lose out on the jar while youโre fruiting it which can be inconvenient
iโve heard they really help with cluster headaches! i feel horrible for anyone who has to go through those, ive heard they are hell. i hope you can use them to help relieve those

Thanks. I have used them for the bonus of a headache-free existence, and they absolutely work with no negative side effects inherent. And yeah CH are fucking hell. I got friends who get 10 every fucking hellish day. Thank Myc for indole rings.

In fact, that's why I am running a simultaneous PF Tek: I can't afford for the medicine chest to empty and I am already nearing harvest on some of the cakes. This guy pinned after 3 days, veil tore not long after that.

Entertainingly, nothing (except the mutant TC) pinned until after harvest, a couple of days ago...and now:

I knew the A2A2A2A2G would take a bit of time.
I can spare the jars, I have 48 or 60 in-house and will be using whatever of the new 14 survive and the 11 I have almost colonized. If it's not premature [?], I shall run a BUCKET TEK for one brick of coir, once again one of Bod's EAF TEKS, later today after I get home from the art studio.
BUT I have never done bulk. [Therefore the incessant questions.]
I have only 5 and 6 jars, respectively, of the GT and Malabar. If the B+ or McKennai colonize the new 7 jars each with no contam issues, I will relegate one of the new ones to an "in-jar fruiting" if I can find a TEK amongst the millions of archived posts.
While not perfect, my A2G was much more controlled and with better sterile procedure than the first 14. And I have my new penthouse condo of a SAB that is luxurious to work in.
Again, thanks 'guys-of-all-genders' for the input.

Just spawn Bacterial spawn separately, you get fruits most of the time. Don't expand them by G2G, and if you are running grains the trick is usually to make sure your grains are dry enough, as excess moisture favors Bacteria. Your inoculate needs to be good as well

Lol I might be willing to help but spawn is my weakest area.
Plus Iโve only ever run wbs.
Like they said it looks like they were loaded too wet and got a little bacteria going on. If it was me I would let them sit until they colonized and then spawn them. Those are wet enough that thereโs a good chance they wonโt survive a shake.
Grain preps gotta he dialed in perfectly too, thatโs the main reason Iโve stuck to the same brand of wbs my whole cult career.
Iโm not sure about oat but with wbs they should be close to dry on the outside when you load the jars. I always thought that would be too dry until somebody a while back said properly hydrated seed should be like a jar of bbs.

I cheat and mix some dry verm in with my grain so I donโt need to stress so much about drying the outside. That gives me a really good texture and I swear the bags break up easier and the mycelium uses the vermiculite to jump between grains

Oooo, i enjoy a discussion about grain and which ones can suck it Jst put SHIPs in half mine lids for doing LC. Gonna be nice not opening and closing lids all cramped in my SAB. I end up with bacteria when i pour, so none of that nonsense. Got me feeling the millet again. Ape looks so nice on millet:
 Soo many inoculation points

I have a fuckton of current photos: 4-6 each of 10 Oats jars. I nocc'd them on 05-09 and 05-10. I lost 2/7 B and 1/7 GT to aspergillus, most likely. I asked a different question in AMU Q&Ai 36- hours ago and crickets. So I'll post them here and hope some TC eyeballs them and gives me an education. Must hate the "how do my jars kook" thing, but that is area where booklearning alone doesn't inform.
So, Here we go:Quote:

Thanks for the input. Relief re unshook GT and OH Fuck on the very shook Malabar. I'll see what happens and chalk it up to The Learning Curve, one of the gods of Knowledge. {{wow i'm baked }}
I'll try to find someone who does oats open to questions [and not bug Bodhi who gets bugged too much I'm sure]. Eventually I'll get them dialed in.
I'm a little concerned how wet the second set of 14 jars was. Next run I'll spread them out on two big beach towels for a couple hours.
Is the GT ready to go to coir, by any chance, and is there a link to what a fully colonized quart of [oat]grain would look like when it's time to go to tub? I am getting slowly better with the search engine. Slowly.
