How I do grain prep.

I fill a presto 23 about 3/4 with water, get it to a hard boil. Dump in my hard wheat and leave it for 2 hours, then empty it into a fuckit-bucket with a hundred small holes in the bottom to drain in the sink. No rinsing because I believe that's throwing away food. I toss it on my 4x4 drying fucker here. Wheat has awesome nutrients and holds water extremely well.
Then I do a load of WBS that's supplemented with canola, same way. WBS is great but milo and other shit doesn't hold a lot of water I find, so throwing it down 50/50 with wheat makes it perform awesome in bags. When I g2g my bags finish up in about a week and after switching to the natedognow bag tek I've got more spawn than I can handle.
I'll let this dry up overnight because I find bags perform better that way. Mix it up in the morning, bag and PC.

User Roger Clemency has posted about no prep WBS quite a few times, should check out his post history:
Quote:
Roger Clemency said: WBS doesn’t need a soak for that. No grains do, though the soak can maybe help with moisture content. The endospore thing is old stuff and soaking can greatly increase the numbers. When I started using WBS I used Fooman’s method (Quick and with no soak) and it always worked great, now I do no prep WBS and found the perfect ratio (for Pennington classic wild bird food) to be 275g WBS straight from the bag to 150g water. I’ve done 40-50 no prep jars so far and they’ve all been good.
I use Pennington's too so I tried it out and while there wasn't anything really wrong with it, I didn't like having to shake it right after to prevent clumping and Fooman is pretty easy and always turns out perfect, might experiment with no prep again though it is quick as hell.

Interesting. I dnt mind the time necessary for prepping (as im interested in cultivating for the beauty, art, and health of it) but was interested in how others prep wbs due to the sunflower seeds in it. I wanna do a batch of black oil cept i fucking hate drying sunflower seeds. The info is helpful. Thanks mush family

They are a cube with decent potency is rate them pretty highly. Plus they are absolutely one of the most gorgeous fruits out there.
The whole tat line (tat, ghost, yeti,MVP, amvp, jack frost) all come Frome 2 dudes isolation work. They have a neat story and some of them are just stunning looking, add to that tat fruits like mad with big chunky healthy fruits if you let it breathe

I'm running some rolled barley cause I have some. It's not terrible in bags, just needs about a 30min hot soak for prep.

So I just got a bunch of home depot buckets and didn't think to wash them before putting a bunch of coir into 4 of them to spawn some tubs. When I just opened them to mix it up they all smelled pretty chemically.
I'm not to worried it will affect anything but what do you think? I've always used my insulated bucket and never thought about it before lol

I didn't wash either of my buckets out, just turned them upside down and smacked the bottom.

Did you happen to notice an odor or anything? I'm just letting it air out before I put my spawn in because I really didn't like the smell and hovering over it.

I'm not sold on the pp containers yet, the ones I use snap closed and are actually a pita to get open in the sab. At this stage I rate I'm going to stick to glass petris, they're better for viewing as well.

I'm down for some canola experimentation, can I get canola seeds from a feed store in 50lb bags or where should I look? Thoughts on adding canola oil to whole wheat or oats?
