Okay... I am really confused on why my Amazonian cube unmodded tubs and shoeboxes will not fruit indoors.... But when I toss out the tubs into a compost heap, they start to pin and fruit?????????? At the start I thought I made way too many transfers on agar to isolate some good mycelium and I hadn't taken any good colonies from the mycelium itself..... So I was suggested to make a minimal amount of transfers and then put onto grain, so I would actually get some fruits... I decided to toss the tubs out which I had transferred up to 7 transfers into the compost heap and now I see fruits? HALP...

Maybe try using holes in your tubs so that the surface will experience more evaporation, which is the primary pinning trigger after colonization. There is a ton of fresh air outside ; )
Josex pucks are certainly the way to clean yo shit.

I was hoping to go with unmodified tubs and what not .. How come other people can do unmodified and even neglect teks and still get good yields etc.. So confused.

Everyone's circumstances are different, you have to use methods that work in your environment.
I personally do not like un-mod tubs, I find that ez dial work best in my environment. If I was in your position thats just what I would do, increase fresh air to increase evaporation to see if I could coax a pinset.

Could I just move the lid a little more 2 introduce a bigger gap for FAE?

Just sit the lid on upside down so it isnt sealing but still covering it.

That's what it has been like for a whole month and nothing happens.

Well there's only a few criteria that need to be met. So start tweaking each one u til you get it right. I would start by placing holes at sub level to increase fae. Make sure that you have proper surface conditions, light, and a culture that fruits.
So you obviously have a fruiting culture once the environment changes, this tells you that you definitely have an issue with conditions. Sacrifice one tub and see if it works.

Cheers, I will go get the drill now and see how it goes. I have noticed that if I crack the lids open a little more than just resting the lid upside down ontop of the tub that the beaded water on top of the sub will dry out a lot quicker. So that means their is evaporation happening correct?

P9hu7 - So, you jst use a fat (2") coir top coat for PE? Intriguing. The thought of not having to buy, mix, and pasteurize a peat casing layer is making my downstairs tingle.
So PE will grow through casing no problem, and then you patch. This must be why you make it so thick. Do you ever wind up patching cuz the myc grew through.
But most importantly, when exactly do you apply this thick top coat?

I was patching at first but moving all of my tubs around to do so was a pain in the balls, so I stopped and nothing seemed to change so I just said fuck it, no patching.
I add the top layer at spawning and just let it ride. The first time I tried it I didn't have high hopes, it hasn't failed me yet. No blobs.
I went into detail about it for someone else in this thread here:

Hi beautiful people! Feels good to be back!
What would you recommend for spore production?
- Shoeboxes or larger monos?
- What about substrate ratio?
I want to get some spores to giveaway!
