The jar on the left is entirely egyptian wheat. The jar on the right is a bird mix. Yoir actually lucky and i envy you having egyptian wheat to work with cuz it's the god damned bomb diggity.

You sure? Here's the bag it came from. I strained off the sunflower seeds. You can see how much darker it got from the PC cycle. It was just 1.5 hour at 15 psi as normal

There is some sfseeds hiding in there, eh? Im sure that you got mostly egyptian wheat in that first jar. Quail like that shit. It's called a few different things. Red sorghum, egyptian sorghum, etc. That's why the jar is darker. Lot less white millet.

Yeah yeah your Somali bird feed is the bomb!
But over to something much more important:

I have to admit, I can't save something like this. The green will ride the transfers 99/100 times and even if it looks clean, it shows up later.
My question: CAN it be done? The TCs here at Shroomery, can they clean up something like this?
It's not purely to annoy, this is my best growth from the single Ape swab I have ever had.
Can it be saved?

Not a TC but yes. Take transfers and clean it up. The trouble I have is with how fast the green turned green. That might actually be an advantage because it is showing it self so fast.

My ape swab plate has what appears to be a lot of blue bruising on the myc and it’s not even in places that I transferred from. Could it be a contam? I don’t know what stress it’s under other than no ge

any experienced grower wouldn't attempt to clean that culture unless that was the last culture on earth. We got better shit to do.

That plate would have been thrown out long ago. Make more than one plate if these are the possible results. This looks like a germ plate, I would suggest making more than one next time around.
You don't want a culture that has mold meshed into the mycelium, its a pain in the twat. Best scenario for this plate, if you absolutely must clean it is to use josex's puck method.

Sorry, I must admit that I just looked at the picture and the part about saving it

Do a search for "hot pour." Least i thnk thats what it's called. But p9 aint fucking lying dude, you dnt want contaminant mycelium seamlessly blended in with the good myc. And fuckin' A right cleopatra wheat is the bomb diggity.

Hot pours don't work on mold. That shit will grow right up through it just like myc does. Works good for bacterial plates though.

This is a great explanation of how to work in front of the hood. Wish I saw this before trial and error. I generally had the right idea when I went in but certain stuff like distance from hood and how far items should be away from your left and right when working are gold points.

I do agar>quart>bag>tub. Recently I've been expanding quarts into quarts more depending on cleanliness, grain type, and culture. For example I have one sexy SWPE jar so that's definitely gettig expanded to like 5 quarts. From there one may go into more jars while the other 4 go into bags.
I'm less comfortable with LC and I like the speeds I'm seeing with my current grain prep and culture quality.
Almost done spawning this mega round of 18, and I have some more bags and a bit more shelving available.

Well the tri colored corn didnt end up looking that prettt after pc. Plus ive got some kinda water getting in my jars issue. Started a thread about it. Gotta figure that out. Would make sense if i used more than 3qts water or the lids came loose or the sfds pealed off...but nope.
Do yall measure out exactly 3qts or do ya jst fill the qt jar at the tap till it's basically overflowing and dump it in?

Small talk, I'd try and save that if it were a culture I really liked and I didn't have it saved in cold storage, for sure. Can't promise that'd work but I can usually get them clean in a transfer or three. Some times it never leaves but more often than not I can clean it. If the culture is completely inter tangled I generally give her a swing and see what happens with not too much hope. When I can see organized clean looking areas of myc I give her a swing with high hopes and am pretty confident.

Hey guys, I know you’re supposed to rehydrate/dunk after a flush, but when do you guys usually dunk when you just get one continuous flush that doesn’t end? Do you go by how heavy the sub feels or how much it appears to have shrunken back from the wall? Thanks.
