I'm dreading legalization because it will be just like weed.
Inferior products for premium prices followed by mountains of waste like point of sale promotional shit and packaging.
Either make it legal like a tomato or dont bother. Otherwise it's just more people between you and the product. And those people demand to be paid competitive wages to act as a courier at the check out counter.

college gonna be free it will be the new GED. Beyond that... something about psychedelic drugs being used to pay for institutional brain washing just doesn't sit right imo.

Ok maybe I should rephrase. I just want to make enough money for me and my family to live comfortably. If I can use this hobby I love to do that instead of grinding away at an 8-5 that I hate then that's what I'm going to do.

I for one would not like the darn things legalized because possession is rarely enforced, the price is right and no home gamers would be able to compete with the large corpos that would be right on it in a big way.
Legend has it that some make a living doing some things and it'd kill their livelihood as it's the only thing they're truly good at. Or so I hear.

Start growing edibles and get started on that goal today
Then when actives are legal you already have a legitimate business to make the transition with a business credit history etc.
Good luck breaking into the legal industry without a serious investment. Cannabis license APPLICATION, again, the application for a license is 10k non refundable if denied.
Seriously, it's impossible to break into the legal cannabis industry without serious, legal money to start up. Mushrooms will go the same route unfortunately. Probably even more and more strict regulation to comply with.

The way I see it my two options are to move the box downstairs info the furthest room possible, but it’s chilly down there, like mid to low 60s Fahrenheit. On the other hand, if I move them outside, they’ll experience swings from mid 60s at night to low 80s on some days. What would you guys do if you were me? Do temps even matter that much?
Your outdoor temps are kinda perfect. When my tubs contaminate, they go outside in a shady spot. I cover the surface with straw. The contamination always goes into remission, cuz nature. I water them every few days and the yield is always worth the trouble. After that, they go to a shady compost pile, and usually flush again.

Oysters (pink) and pearl are popular and easy edibles to start with. Black poplar, lions mane, reishi, shitake, all possible.
fruiting them is different than cubes. But that's just more learnings

I find cubes more difficult than most commercial edibles honestly. Lions mane and reishi grow themselves. Oysters are dead simple too.
Most difficult commercial edible in my opinion of all the ones I've grown is shiitake because it takes FOREVER and benefits greatly from a cold shock which is hard to do with a lot of blocks when you dont have a big fridge.
6 shelf rack, some plastic, a humidification source, and some dialing in makes a great grow tent for a small time unit.
Mu 1st edible gh circa 2016:

Managed to grow enough to supply a couple restaurants in town. Totally doable just to start up even with limited space

Oh shit, sweet. I was thinking downstairs was the way to go but I’ll try outside instead. I don’t have any straw on hand, so I guess I’ll just toss them in a nice spot and see what happens. I’m supposed to be getting some rain tomorrow too. Fuck it. Thanks for the advice dude

My experience is growing oysters in tubs (king, pink, pearl) which worked very poorly.
My latest fad is these black poplars / piripiri (Agrocybe a)

The guy who shared a plate with me claimed they were cube lookalike
I'm inclined to agree.
Nate the problem with edibles is the price
You need more than a closet to grow some edibles to make money's?
