It is melmac iso3. That's what it was called when it was gifted. I have a TP variety and 118 & homestead & docs dank spores variety. This is not from them. This is something that was worked on for a year or so before being given to me.
I dont know exactly how they all look different but I have all of them in bags colonized now. The timeline for the iso3 "mardi gras" is the name this variety was given by the higher ups. Colonizing times are just as fast as other cubes, but it takes about 3 weeks minimum -4 weeks max to start to pin.

I would love to know this as well. Also are you spawning into bags? or colonizing invitro? and what ratio? looks a lot like my style of a grow!

If those bags are fruited in tubs, then it seems Melmac likes clean spawn and a tub to live in.

hahaha i’m really looking forward to trying it out, it makes so much sense. i have some master clone cultures on grain in the fridge rn that we’re definitely bacterial from square 1. i’ve been trying to figure out why all my grain is bacterial when my agar plates look clean & my oats seem to be prepped fine. i’ve left oat jars on the shelves for weeks & even would open one up after awhile & didn’t smell anything but prepped oats, & i rarely get contams on my agar from transfers so i’ve been starting to think it’s riding along with the mycelium itself. my MS grows tend to be significantly less bacterial on average than any of my clone cultures, so i’m gonna test out my hypothesis by doing a BRF plate or two before inoculating jars with my cloned cultures & see if that helps things

I have a hell of a lot to say about all this you said. Unfortunately I can't say what I think/know until I have proof to show to people (working on it), otherwise they can say stuff like I'm spreading misinfo and that kinda shit. In a nutshell, it's not all about getting clean cultures, that's imo/e the easy part of the hobby, by far. However it's not so easy to get clean spawn and there's a fat reason for that most people just seem oblivious of.

I actually would like to hear your thoughts too josex. Since adopting your poke methods and brf pucks I've had alot more success. Any advice you can even general advice is appreciated.

Sorry I should've shut up, hate being ambiguous or misterious. Will make a thread soon.

Honestly my poke method just happen to make things easier for me to work with LC and the pucks just take a load off of my culture work compared to Agar (it gets crazy for me with agar everytime, take too many transfers). But as far as getting clean inoculants, working with agar and a scalpel can get you clean cultures just as easily and a2g has always been solid af for me, just not my jam.
What I was referring to is a different thing that has little to do with culture work, will make a thread soon to explain this.

Hey guys, I’ve got some shoeboxes in my grow room and one of them has developed trich mid-flush. The way I see it my two options are to move the box downstairs info the furthest room possible, but it’s chilly down there, like mid to low 60s Fahrenheit. On the other hand, if I move them outside, they’ll experience swings from mid 60s at night to low 80s on some days. What would you guys do if you were me? Do temps even matter that much?

What do you guys think about being in the political arena as and trying to make change legally surrounding entheogenic healing medicines while growing mush at home simultaneously. Does that sound like a disaster waiting to happen? Should I find another forerunner in my community? I want to get it decriminalized so my wife is willing to try them. She fears having our kids taken away, but knows she would benefit from them. She has no prior experience with shrooms but suffers with depression and wants healing. I know this might not be the place for this, but I really want to get her the help she needs. Should I not grow while getting petitions signed at the courthouse, or just say fuck it...
