I'm dreaming of a no prep prep where you mix almost without water, fluffiness and pc cycle does the rest. So far no good results

miket that happens sometimes please get out of my house
lol but no for real me I'd wait. It could be bacterial. I've heard some people say they brush off uncolonized bits afterwhile, I've had very bad luck doing that.

Do you have solid tape over the holes?

Is that breathable tape? If it’s solid and not micropore, your jars could be out of air and stalling because of it

Anybody ordered a FFU from China recently? Any suppliers you'd recommend or stuff to be aware of?
I'm looking for a 2x2, I know to look for 110v but not sure if I'm missing any other crucial details.

A guy in this recent thread did,

Here is the direct link to the one he purchased from that thread, I bookmarked it because I've been thinking of pulling the trigger.

Thanks, I saw that from my searches but they didn't seem to have anything other than 2x4.
Which I'd love but don't have the space for now. My girl would murk me forsure lol.

Hey guys. I've shared some of my struggles here and also made my own threads over the past few years. I went through everything many times, different grains, bucket tek vs pasteurization, pc times, substrates, testing all my sterile work with blank transfers, etc.. and kept continuously getting shit results. My plates and spawn were very clean the whole time. None of the experiments made even the the slightest difference. I just kept continuously losing everything, I don't know how I stuck with it. I'd lose everything near the end of the first flush or at the very beginning of the 2nd flush, consistently for 3 years in a row with over a dozen different strains. It was literally the most frustrating and disheartening thing I've ever experienced.
So I solved the problem and I'd love some feedback to what you guys think it might of been. I began using an alkaline pete/verm casing and I shit you not that I'm getting 3 full flushes from every single tub I make with every different strain I grow. And yet the only reason why I can imagine a PH adjusted casing solving all my problems is, well... maybe you guys could help me figure out wtf has been happening. Any ideas?

Sounds like dirt spawn. I just ran 20 yubs of green and was certain my coir change was the culprit. After spawning the nexr 20 tubs and the inly change was adding some verm and new spawn; I'm thinking the verm was of little importancex and that my last round of spawn was just trash. What's your water supply like?

78Wren said: Hello✌️ I’m Wrenai. I’ve been following this board for a bit now, first as a guest. I am new to this but I’ve been reading books and here. Started with BRF Tek (no pressure cooker) inoculated my first jars last sun and so far good😬 I’ve already decided I want to go to agar so I’ve been researching that now. I’m confident I understand where to start I’m having trouble finding what the process is after grain jars. My question is agar(I’m aware there are many steps here but calling it this) to grain jars until colonized?then those go to substrate? is there a reference guide for what exactly I do once those grain jars are ready? I have a mono tub for now for these I’ve started but would love to look at doing shoebox instead. Thanks in advance for reading and any help🤗
Ok of course right after I post this I figure out I need to search spawn to ... so I’m getting there. I’ll continue to search feel free to ignore this just didn’t want to post and delete.
Hey dude, welcome!
You might have come across it already in your searches, but check out bod's ultimate getting started list. It includes great teks for everything you might need and then some: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/24144021
A good starting place for agar is Pastywhytes's Easy Agar Tek, it's very beginner friendly: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/19208976
Good luck man, keep us posted! Here's to some good fruit

You're right. It is not so breathable it should be. Should I replace it with another or keep it and wait?
Thank you

You should remove it.. it’s probably stalling your jars out.. I like to put painters tape over my holes for the first week or so (until I get a decent amount of germination and growth), then I replace the painters tape with two layers of micropore... then, because I use the tall 1/2 pints like you (couldn’t find the shorties), when the top becomes fully colonized or close to it, I remove one layer of micropore and the jars finish out
Where these jars are at..

Is about (maybe a little sooner) where I’d change the painters tape out for 2 layers of micropore. You can just remove the tape and leave the holes open but I wouldn’t move the jars around at all (pick them up etc) or have them in a room with lots of air movement.. granted the verm layer is there to stop contaminates but I still don’t like the holes being exposed without micropore.. maybe it’s overkill but I don’t like to temp fate as it were.
You can also just uncover part of the hole so that the tape is covering most of it but still allows for gas exchange until you get some micropore
