I've actually been very curious about mixing multiple grains.

I've always enjoyed using small grain master's (WBS) to Oat receiving jars. Fills in the gaps perfectly.

Mixed grains is nice. Lately i just get whats cheap cause its always changing.
Damn, 80cents a lb is expensive to make spawn with

i kinda liked it the other way around. dem big ass grains provide lots of surface area to leap off.

In the grand scheme of things, it really isn't that expensive. I'm not spawning 20 full size monotubs a week like some folks around here. I'm happy running six 15 qt tubs a week and even that sometimes seems to be too much.
Anyone here successfully cloned enoki fruits? They are so damn skinny that I had tough time getting an inner tissue sample that I ended up with nothing but bacteria on all of my plates.

Have you been swishing them around in some sterile water before ripping them open?

Ooh, are they wild enoki? There was another tribe member that had but havent seen em on in a bit. Maybe try fahts h2o2 clone method

Jake just posted pictures of him doing a pan clone, those are even smaller than enoki.
I think I’ve pulled off one clean pan clone before the rest were a bunch of bacterial goo I had to wait weeks for myc to outrun.

No. I bought them from an asian market. I also bought king oyster and beech mushrooms from them and those are showing healthy recovery.
I will look up fahts h202 cloning method. Thank you.

A little while ago I remember reading something about wild enoki being a different species than store bought enoki. The former being flammulina velutipes and the latter flammulina filiformis.
Cron has a cloning tek too. That’s where I read about the sterile water thing. I think that’s what’s recommended when doing plant tissue culture too

When isolating a mushroom for pin density over large fruit bodies, what would the best approach be? Will a healthy isolate produce a good yield or will it continue to produce large fruit bodies?
The past isolates that I did threw up variable results and I'm not sure if it's environment vs culture but I'm pretty sure my tubs have good environments and produce large fruit bodies on horse dung, I am however after canopies rather than donkey dicks.

If I’m reading correctly you’re asking for average fruits but packed right ? I have cloned large fruits and got shitty results ..
Best way to clone in my opinion is first to pin , first to mature , (those could be definitely different booms) I look for clusters , and always medium fruits over anything genetics are the only thing that make the fruits big for the most part but environment plays a role as well .,
All of those were all grown in the same ( well similar ) conditions and all varied those penis envy was a multi spore that I isolated and when I cloned it all I got was blobs .. just need to work 27/9 to find that perfect culture man

Thanks Boogie, I always isolated the largest fruit but I'm finding i just end up growing tubs of umbrellas which are great but I still prefer smaller mushrooms and a full tub canopy.

Yeah I think pasty has been yelling for years about medium size.. huge fruits are cool I love walking in and finding a couple hundred gram boom but you get one.. those bags of albino a+ were pulling in average 35-40 grams dry per bag on one qt jar 3:1 ratio coir Verm .. environment usually will only play a part in yield not much to do in size .
But then it does.. but to keep you from grinding unneeded gears look for fast genetics and average fruits even a shitty ass multi spore tub that pushes three fruits will have genetics for greatness .. keep in mind environment can cause good genetics to be poor .. check out some of pasty’s cup grows he has cultures growing in different types of tubs and the same genetics flourish better in different environments

Last year I started using sterile water instead of h2o2 (talk about doing shit like no one else ) to take my clones.. works great... much cleaner results. But that’s with inner tissue (I don’t have a hood so I do all kinds of craziness with oven bags and quarantine sections ) but I basically have 3 consecutive sterile water rinses (the quarantine section filled with sterile syringe water and then 2, 4oz jars of sterilized water) before it goes into the grain jar. But if you’re doing a whole section of a stem, you may want to think about doing a h2o2 dip/dunk and then sterile water rinses to wash away the H2o2 and cause as little tissue damage as possible.
Maybe even a diluted bleach water soak, idk, I’ve never tried that before but I think I remember ppl using it to revive dried fruits.. can’t remember if it was successful or not
Here’s the link to my cloning method brownbear

Haha.. many reasons I suppose.. money, room, fear of falling into a vast hole of thousands of petris because I love it too much. Eventually when we get our own house it’ll happen.. been looking into FFU’s. If I’m going to get wet one, that’ll be what I get.. so sleek and sexy. I do aight though.. learned a shit ton having to work around not having one and still get the results I get
Who wouldn’t want to go through having to make this to get a clone?

makes me feel like a mad scientist
I actually had a hood at one point about 15 years ago.. bought off a topia member, highflyer.. got the thing and the fan was so off kilter that it shook like it was about to take off into my ceiling lol. I was afraid my downstairs neighbors were going to call the police so I put it by the dumpster and went to get beer.. when I came back it was gone.. like 10 minutes
