I just bought a 5'x10' grow tent to convert into my new lab. My 4x8 tent that I am currently using is becoming a tight fit now that I am expanding into a gourmet setup also. I plan on converting my 4x8 tent into my gourmet fruiting tent. I also just purchased a AA 75x but apparently their is a 60 day lead time. So I probably will not see that until May. The next thing on my list is a new flowhood. I have seen a few folks on here posting those FFU's. Where is the best place to purchase one of those? I am sure they'll be on backorder also but I seriously need to upgrade from what I am currently working with.

Why do you want 100 plates? That's a fuck load of mushrooms. Are you going to fridge the plates once colonised and keep them long term?
I've done similar just to experiment and it's a ballache disposing of so many plates unless you are comfortable just tossing them.

Just to expand on the volume of mushrooms we may be talking about here. 1/4 of one plate or less could be enough for multi monos if you do g2g. Say you harvest 8 dry Oz from each. 8oz x 2 (16 g2g jars) x 4 (1 full plate) x 100 (other plates) is alot of ounces
It's not my business by I wonder if you really need that many.

Just read the masters and slaves thread again and I do have 2 master back up plates in the fridge already cause I don’t work with slants yet but it seems like the main way he recommends mycelial expansion is G2G or LC, both of which I’m trying to avoid for the time being.
And 100 plates was a bit of an exaggeration lol, but once I find a better clone I’ll want to expand it quite a bit. Definitely don’t need 100 plates now but there’ll definitely be a point where I want to get close to 100 plates of a single culture that I’ll then fridge once colonized and take out as needed.
I guess most people who need to expand that much generally do G2G so they don’t need as many plates but for now my main inoculant is LI which I need plates for.

It's my understanding that the lead time has changed to 90 days now. I spoke with the manufacturer recently. Looks like we will both be waiting until July...
Myers mushrooms sells a nice FFU. I would link but I don't know if that's against the rules.

That looks pretty close to developing pins. I would be worried disturbing the surface now could negatively impact pinset. I would probably just let it play out, but if the more knowledgeable beings here suggest a different course of action then I would do that.

The dish I expanded to about 100 plates was ms that I'd never even seen fruit lol. It was just practice though really and I ended up tossing over 90 of them even though they all looked ok.
They mount up so quickly. I opened about 80 more recent wrapped dishes of various varieties and stages of colonisation to dispose of yesterday, took ages. It's making me seriously consider glass reusable plates.
Maybe I'm being paranoid but my prints are on record and I worry that the discovery of empty plates with things like B+ and GT written on them might somehow be reported and lead back to me. Especially in these times when everyone is worried about bacteria and viruses, some busybody might get paranoid someone is growing out covid or something and report the find.
I know it's incredibly unlikely but I'm not taking the risk so instead I'm chucking the agar in the waste disposal unit and blending it and smashing my dishes to pieces with a hammer whilst wrapped in something before putting them in the bins.
Typing that out makes the whole process feel even more ridiculous than it probably is lol

Rebelutionss- Leave it.
Am i the only one who isnt all uppity about clones? I like it so every run is a whole new ocean of genetics. Germinating spores most every run. Tubs/fruits end up with character. Although g2g is the mega shit.

so since there is still crosstalk about me that i dont know about: honestly i actually only skimmed nates tek, nope, i didn't read it fully. I see people doing interviews ask dumb questions intentionally and it gets the person to dumb down their answer. (I always assume some dumb unregistered noob will read my shit one day) well personal stuff happening personal stuff happening in background personal stuff happening in background I snapped and didn't want to feed my own argumentativeness so I thought it'd be smart to just block, but then later i went back and deleted a lot of my posts across several threads including all my photos blahblah personal problems. I apologize nates right I can't read expensive filters? nah im just struggling financially so I see every purchade as a concern and i was feeling really self conscious and insecure about it and i didnt want to talk about it. Doesn't really matter. Im ashamed of myself and I do apologize.

I know it's not the most environmentally friendly option, but I incinerator my pp5 plates. In the few years I've been doing cult, I've used maybe 600 plates (a few small orders and almost done with my first 500 cs) so it's not like I'm just pumping black smoke into the air every week or anything. I just use a piece of 10" round duct work with a hole cut near the bottom for air flow and feeding fire wood. It's insane how well it will burn things to nothingness. I usually do it while painting outside with a small fire going and some yard waste so it doesn't look out of the ordinary. It also helps to have some gourmets going so if any nosey neighbors ask questions, I can pull out a jar or 2 of some ostreatus or bitorquis spawn. I can ramble off way more in-depth info than they can process in a short period of time and that is usually enough to stop the questions. But yeah, plates with cube variants written on them is not something I want sitting in my trash can on the curb.

Damn! That sucks. I guess the website I ordered from needs to update their info on lead times.
Thanks. I'll check out myers mushrooms website. Much appreciated.

Tutu, bro you just can’t let seeing all the ffu and flow hoods people are building and buying get to your own situation! I’d love to get one built and would actually be much cheaper for me being in the hvac industry but it just doesn’t fit with what I’ve got going on right now. My SAB hasn’t let me down and I’ve got plates I end up not getting around to, but I’ve got a wall of grain jars colonizing and half dozen or more tubs fruiting. You try keeping up with the Jones’ and you’ll be a miserable fella, not worth it! You do you homie, hell with how anybody else does it. You made your apology, unblock him and drill him for knowledge bc he has a lot of it!

Lol I’m glad you brought up disposal actually, I’ve been avoiding dealing with it for months now and I have a few hundred plates that I’ve just stuffed in my closet in a trash bag.
Dumping the agar then smashing the petris seems like a pretty solid option. I’m a little sketch about fingerprints and such as well and also too lazy to rub off all the Sharpie on the plates with iso.
@Feaso, got nothing against going back to spore, it’s definitely fun rolling the dice but I need a daily driver too.
@Gypsy, lol the smoke from that must smell like ass. That’s a good move though, wish I could do that but I can’t just be starting fires where I am unfortunately.
I’ve also been eyeing the Myer’s FFU. Anyone know how much shipping usually runs for his units?

i just figured out there were russet mites on some of my flowers.... probably all of them. Hurts. reading that the whole area has to go down maybe even fumigated. I want to not believe it, Im mad myself for believing I could run things for a long time without doing more modification to the space.

Lenz - I figure there's something about it i dnt yet understand. I've only run clone tubs a handful of times and each time the resulting fruits were crap and nothing like the fruit that i cloned from. Every clone run shits the god damn bed. The one time i got a clone canopy it was all on the fucking bottom of the sub. Meh, im sure i'll end up running a nice one and be all about it like all yalls.

That's rough, my clones right now aren't all that great but it's nice to have that consistency and it goes like 19 days spawn to harvest which I like.
I did have a really nice GT plate clone when I first started cloning that kicked ass yield wise but that was when I didn't understand that you should have a backup of any cultures you're testing and I just threw the whole plate to grain and that was that lol.

So this is the last tub I'm doing before I move house and it decides to be a funny fucker. My lagm grow too... typical.

Anyway, as you can see, its got this thick creamy ass growth on top. I knocked some condensation of the lid onto it and it bruised blue, good sign I suppose, and it smells good.
So its probably bacterial, just wondering if scraping a bit of that myc of the top might help get a fruit or two out of it, I have a T1 in the fridge I can work with but it'd be nice to have something to show for lagm before my hiatus
