Yeah, there are popsicle sticks in them you just can't see them because I let it colonize too long.

Your thoughts and experience with millet? Hate it or love it?
Here's some quarts with white sorghum and millet seed 50/50. I find the millet is harder for the mycelium to penetrate, leaving some of it seemingly uncolonised.

i like wbs to be nothing but millet/mil.
recently ive been grabbing some local wbs thats mostly millet.
seems to be working so far. yet to fruit with it but i noticed the myc leap off the agar onto the millet really fast.
noticeably faster then on sorghum but who knows.

I'll be switching to plain white sorghum after my millet is up, or maybe I'll feed the rest of my millet to the birds.
Had nothing less than amazing results when spawning millet to bulk. It just seems to take longer to colonize.
EDIT: ...AND to get it to the appropriate moisture level.

I love millet for grain masters. The tiny grains add way more inoculation points so it speeds up colonization and requires less volume per transfer. I definitely have to take the millet out half-way through the cycle to shake again or else they clump together tons. You might try mixing in some oats or something to avoid that and provide extra gaps for your myc to crawl through?

Going to be prepping 36 jars next week and may not have enough colonized agar plates.
I could always g2g some jars but I'd rather not. So I'm planning on giving blender less LI a shot and wondering how far some of you have stretched a single plate
Would it be realistic to stretch 1 plate between 8-12 jars?

ez
I use more like 10cc per jar and still get good colonization times. 1 plate to ~200cc = 20 plates in my book.

I just used 1 plate, 200 ml of water for (9) jars. I should have added 300 ml though

Amazing! Thanks for the feedback guys. I think I'll go with 1 plate to 2 cups of water (440ml) for 12 jars

I pizza sliced my plates before I did the blender less LI. I only made 4 cuts, if I do it again in going to make a lot more cuts. I found it a little tough to balance out the amount of agar chunks to water that I put in to each jar.

pizza sliced plates. awesome use of..uh like.. words.
for real tho. im stealing that term because thats how i 'tiger drop' into my jars. i slice the plate into a ton of small triangle/grid shapes and put them to grain. give a good shake
