It will work but it's not ideal. Ideal is 6500k.

It looks to me like you have a good deal of knots on your surface. Are you spraying a fine mist over the top of your cake to allow small beads of moisture to form on your surface? If you doused it and haven’t been allowing evaporation in between that may be where your problem is. Evaporation of the tiny beads of moisture is what triggers pinning. Since you flipped that cake it may have collected a lot of moisture on that side of the cake inhibiting pin formation. Just a thought...

Edit: on second inspection I do see you have pins, that’s a great sign. Just make sure not to go overboard with misting now or have your lights to close to your sub. When misting just allow a fine mist to land on your cakes and let evaporation happen in between. You don’t want it to wet or to dry you want it just right like Goldilocks.

Hi, yeah I have Pins everywhere <3 next days we will see it better  this is my second successfull Grow. I see litte tiny drops of water on the Cake surface so no misting then right? I hope the Air exchange of my Minni Tube is OK. I try to watch for it what you say thx.. 2 times per day I watch and give it Freh Air.

Yeah, you only want to mist when the majority of the drops evaporate. Also air exchange is provided through gaps in lids or holes in your tub so idk if yours is air tight or not but it isn’t necessary to fan or take the lid off unless it’s air tight. A good read is Proper Surface Moisture / When to Increase FAE the edits are from where I left something out lol. I often don’t think of everything right of the bat. Congrats on the pins! Look forward to seeing how it goes for you.

I took some advice from stareatclouds or someone else but I'm pretty sure it was him. I just started putting numbers on my plates and jars and then logging them into a notebook. Saves me a ton of time and masking tape. It's literally just "11/23 - inoculated plates. 1 - Amazon, 2 - Pan Cyan"

Right on, man. It definitely helped me stay organized. I did it with bags, batches of jars, tubs (building/harvesting), etc. Everything, really.

was kind enough to send me a care package with a few fresh blades! Whoo! Being

Anyway here's a comparison between a really old and well used blade and a new one

Legit I feel like I've been through a lot with that blade. Hundreds of
plates and countless grows. All things must pass; Goodbye, old friend.

I put that new blade on right after that pic and this is it today

I'll probably use it another few months before changing it. If you fools are only using
your blades once or twice, send them to me before throwing away

The blade in the first pic grew many dozens of lbs before being replaced. Get ma damn
moneys worth thats for sure

Legit I just changed the blade I talked about in this post haha. That was over a year ago.

Old blade used for over a year and a new one.

Stareatclouds, thanks for those 2 blades you sent me over 3 years ago. They lasted me quite a while :lmafo:

My chick decided to start her own grow and was like "what the fuck is up with your blade dude" and bought a 100 pack.

Im set for life

Idk why, but this post made my heart happy... got all the warm and fuzzy feels for some reason... lol... my current blade...

For shits and giggles, I decided to flame the back of the blade every time... got a wicked forward hook going now... lol

My torch is pretty wonky so sometimes its a blaze of glory, other times it takes a minute to get red... generally tho, if I aim at the same spot on the blade it only takes 10-15 seconds to be satisfactory.

I'm just lazy

@mushboy- it happens sometimes where the myc will tear (especially with reishi) but so what.
The myc is grown through the whole agar wedge not just the top.

I like when my blades get black and brittle because they are less likely to fall
off the handle after they've been bent back, put back on, and heated a few times.

'a cube is a cube' is quoted alot but still we have loads of different strains. Can you guys with experience tell the difference between a GT and B+ by looking at them? would you be able to look at a tub of cubes and identify cams Vs. Pesa?

Maybe specific cultures somebody’s been working with but in general no, they all have a bunch of different phenos that look similar.

There’s very few that are identifiable by sight. Used to be Avery’s and aa+ were that way but now there are so many albino and leucistics that’s not possible.

Lol it’s basically down to PE and ufo at this point.

I thought so, I have pesa, GT, b  and cam gold cultures and I thinking does it really even matter. I could just focus on one of them.

I do have ape and aa  for a bit of variety too.
