Wafco is hiring but no one wants to make $25-30 an hour doing real work. Probably why the lead times are crazy.

So this is the blower that I purchased for my hood,
https://www.supplyhouse.com/Fantech-FKD10XL-FKD-Series-Round-Inline-Mixed-Flow-Centrifugal-Fan-10-Duct-1266-CFM
it claims to push 1266cfm @ free air...when plugged in it seems to push less air than the small fan on my series 1. My filter is 2x4 @ .5 inWG, that blower is supposed to push 1100cfm @ .5, the filter only requires that it push 800cfm so it should be well over powered. When the filter is on it barely moves smoke, at free air it feels weaker than an oscillating fan...WTF. It's seriously testing my patience I've already torn my hood apart trying to figure it out.
Edit*
Alright...so I've double and triple check the charts, the website and the math. This unit should be gtg.

I'm going to chop almost 6 inches of the depth of the box to build greater pressure in the plenum and tweak a couple of other things as well.

So I started out in my beginnings with wbs......then the last year and a half I’ve been doing oats......I’m powering through cooking the last of it to go back to a bag of WBS. Don’t get me wrong, oats aren’t THAT hard to get right and LC eats that shit up great, but there’s just something that bird seed. My PC&Drying Saturday night thoughts.

I'm switching from wheat to millet. I'm amazed at how little millet expands during hydration. To make the same sized bags (four, one gallon bags tightly fills my Presto), looks like I'll need to use more dry grain initially than with wheat. That def affects the cost per tub. I guess you can't just compare 50lb bag of wheat to a 50lb bag of millet.

I just spent way too long trying to figure out if I was looking at a strand of myc or bacteria under the scope on one of my TO plates before realizing it's a stray strand from the swab.

Can I expect the millet to expand a bit in the PC? I am planning to do a 12hr roomtemp soak. Its expanding about 20% after the soak.

Not really, maybe a little, but I haven't noticed much.
I'm thinking of lowering my soak to 6 hours, some of my master jars get moisture settling in the bottoms of the jars. Seems to be just the jars though, bags seem to be fine.

Have you tried crossing it with a white spore albino? Might be able to knock down the darkness of the spore print and just leave the red pigment

Never seen that color print before. It’s like half rust half red.

What are the disadvantages of the no soak millet Tek? Seems alot of people get success with it but alot of people still soak.

i was wondering the same, i love no prep millet so have no reason to soak it, maybe for doing bags can help but doing quart jars i have great results with 100/50 millet/water.

Well looking at your signature it works so I won't changed
Months ago before I did anything else I bought a newb growkit inoculated it and forgot about it, I just remembered it and it looks clean and ready. Can I just mix this with coir in a shoebox rather than fruit in the bag? I'm guessing I'll get a bigger yield. Or should I case it and fruit in a sgfc?
I'm not actually sure what the substrate in the bag is but it was dark brown like coir. Can I just mix it now as if it's grain?
Thanks

If it looks clean and ready go for mixing it in a shoebox. Double check with a sniff test before mixing it though. I read a thread the other day that people were saying that they got more potent mushes by accidentally leaving things to colonize longer so hopefully you get some killer ones out of it.

Thanks, I wasn't sure if because it was on some sort of coir substrate already it wouldn't work so well mixing in a shoebox. Why do we use grains instead of coir or similar for jars? Speed?
